Doesn't matter who sanctioned it or who led the signing the fact that we ended up 6going into the business end of the season with the chuckle brothers in central defence wether directly because of this signing or as a side effect should be the most concerning aspect to them
Bit of an insult to the chuckle brothers

If he signs and does well, which he would, I assume you'll not be singing "He's our striker, he's our number 9"?!

He's easily a top end Championship striker.
He absolutely is.

I'm fine with signing him for a championship promotion chasing season.
Was one of our better performers in our most recent PL season but I think it shows he's not really up to that standard.

He split opinion during his time here anyway which is probably why there are some massive overreactions to signing him again.

This all said however, I'd want to see other strikers linked/signed instead or as well as.
But we have Moore, Cannon, Campbell, One on the books already. Without including Brewster. Doesn't feel like there are many other slots left and I can't see any of those departing. Unless someone offers enough for say Moore or a club tempts us with a decent bid for One.
Campbell could be subject of interest but I don't see him moving this summer.

Yet again we continue to see the same old names mentioned as potential transfer targets, months after they first seem to have appeared / been targeted. None of these names make me think that the current manager shows any signs of progression or change in tactics or having a plan B. The names mentioned are just mundane playets (in my opinion), sticking to what he thinks is safe / knows / will fit into his "system".
Whilst appreciating some of his past endeavours, if the current transfer talk has any credence, then I'm sorry, this is no longer good enough.
I hope the owners can see this & have a change of direction. If they do, whilst appreciating it may not work, I believe now is the time for change

Only ways would be
Pay as you play
12month contract with option for club
Stays out of court
Stays away from crowd supporting other clubs
Stays out of media
Hits no one on canera
Doesn’t destroy other peoples property

You're taking what Nixon says as gospel. CW's best mate was ridiculing his post on X yesterday.

I do question the sanity of some of our fans
Hes not a top end Championship striker
Strikers are supposed to score goals McBurnie doesnt how many non scoring strikers do we need
Hes been injured / unavailable far too often
There is a reason Las Palmas dont want him hes not good enough
Would he have got into the Leeds and Burnley promotion sides? If not, he's not good enough for our promotion chase next year, is the way the club should think about it..

Zian Flemming, Lyle Foster, Michael Obifemi and Ashley Barnes.... I think he might have?

If Wider is even considering trying to sign Ollie McBurnie, ne’er mind sacking, he wants sectioning………..then sacking 🤦🏻‍♂️
If he's in Wilders plans... he wants his arse kicking out of the door now!

McBurnie scored 13 in 25 starts the last time he was in the championship

Campbell has got 10 in 20 and apparently he's fantastic

Apart from 2021-22 (when he only played 1,000 minutes) McBurnie has been a consistent goalscorer every season he's played in the Championship.

He's a crock. How many more do we sign before the penny drops?

He's had a lot of injury problems. I'm not in favour of signing him this summer despite being a paid-up lifetime member of his fanclub. But the idea that he's "not a top end Championship striker" is incorrect.

Wasn't aimed at you, more a general comment.

And yet neither took him when available so 2 managers who don't agree. Even if only for fitness, who knows.
Neither of them took Campbell when he was available (especially as Burnley lacked an actual striker for most of the season), but Burnley fans would probably admit that Campbell would have got in their side if they had him.

If Mcburnie was at Burnley and was fit to play, he would have been in that team every week.

Joe Rothwell might not have been 1st choice in midfield at Leeds, but he would have played most games for us in our midfield had we signed him.

Sing his name? 🤣 Believe me, if the level of next seasons promotion aspirations, includes the signing of Ollie McBurnie, I won’t even fucking be there!

I've heard Tom Cannon is championing this move.

It's believed he feels he can compete with a striker who scored less goals all season than Cannon did in 1 game.

On the flip side if Mcburnie does come back, think I'll be requesting a bet on games he will miss from injury and/or suspension being higher than number of goals scored.

Should we sign him?

Honestly, I don't know, there's pros and cons to signing him, even if the deal is weighted in our favour.

Pros:
  • Good championship striker who can get goals at this level
  • Competition/cover for Moore, Oné isn't there just yet
  • Good in both boxes
  • Knows club and Wilder well

Cons:
- Have we moved on from him?
