Not sure how i feel about Mcburnie playing in Centre Mid! Isn't he supposed to be a striker that is supposed to score goals?

my daughter was on West Street when the lock down restrictions were relaxed. Apparently he was showing off because he had to wait to go in a restaurant and the police were called. The other players looked embarassed she told me.

Wasn't he just doing what McGoldrick does? He was one of our best players first half. linking up play etc. pretty sure our best chances first half came from him coming deep and linking up play. Should he be doing that? No. But we have no one on midfield who can.

My Barnsley mate was telling me they used to love him playing for them as he was like that child who just chases after the ball.

I feel sorry for Mcburnie. He’s asked every game to go up and win headers every game for no one to run onto them. Every goal kick and every long ball we play he’s asked to go for it. He drops deep because he’s sick of not getting passed to to his feet. And by the time he gets near the box or in the box with a goal scoring opportunity he’s knackered. We’re not playing to our strikers strength. Not one of them. I think he’s sick of what’s being asked of him to be honest

McBurnie can get sick of what’s being asked for him if he wants, but he’s a professional footballer on a good wage and he’ll do as he’s told.

Can’t fault his effort, but his finishing is awful for a striker. He’s trying his best but needs a rest for me. His confidence must be shot.

I do get the impression that McBurnie sees being a footballer as a secondary part of his life. The lack of focus and commitment is always what sets apart the top pros and lower league players.
