Puns aside, if he were to be released from his West Ham contract, we wouldn't be able to sign him until Jan anyway. Can only do free transfers for players who were without a club when the transfer window ended. That's why you always see a bunch of players having their contracts terminated on/just before deadline day (see JLT at Brum as a perfect example)

Ukaki was the 25th that had to make way for Ayew.

Unless someone is long term injured and can be dropped from the list, there won’t be much wiggle room.
