How else is he selling a potential relegation scrap at a club in financial turmoil who are in all honestly unlikely to pay as big a wage contribution as others in the league including us.

Delap came through their academy before being poached by city so they’ll be the obvious choice for him as he’ll settle straight in. The others yeah they’re exploiting the Man U connection

Think there are some pretty unfair comments on here. He didn't shine last year in a team where almost every player was terrible, but he wasn't our worst player either. We needed another LB last season as back up to Stevens, as Osborne was often asked to play centre mid and Wilder clearly thought RND wasn't ready for the Prem. So far Lowe hasn't worked out as we might have hoped - although perhaps after a rocky start he will improve this season - but the comments on here are way over the top imo.

I have nothing against the lad as an individual.

But for a club like us it's all about marginal gains.

We had Stevens, Osborn, Robinson, Norrington-Davies who could all play left back, and probably a few more.

It's a bit rich when you then go and spend 7 figures on an additional left wing back option and the next minute you're complaining about money not being spent on infrastructure.

As a new manager, Slav is coming in and he's probably thinking why have I got no end of left sided full back options, about 8 attackers but no proper left centre half and hardly a midfielder outside the first matchday 4 the other day.

The number of players who have had virtually no impact at all is frightening.

It makes you wonder "How the hell did we get promoted" and having got there, how did we stay there.

We've just come down from the Premier League. Our squad players will be earning decent wages. Even if they were wanted we'd be subsidising wages and not getting fees

We did need competition for Stevens still do in all honesty as he’s likely to be done here either this year or next. The problem is we brought in emergency cover rather than true competition. Hopefully Lowe kicks on and develops further but if he doesn’t I can see him having a very kean bryan career at the lane.

I have a feeling that we agreed to meet the contractual release clause but Fulham went above it. The £60k/week salary on offer in London was probably the clincher though.

No issues with that. If the club needs the cash then you sell. £40m is about the average relegated teams raise I think I've read.

Doesn't effect the fact we have a decent number of players on the books underperforming for their salaries. They are always the hardest to sell, especially when they have multi year deals. Add in the Championship being skint and it was always going to be hard work making changes.
