Is he on the bench tonight. Not sure I heard it right on FH whilst driving home.

With it being a upper body injury you'd think his cardio is as good as ever too.
Nice to see some game changers making the bench

I was disappointed with Adkins interview ,he didn't want to praise him ,despite being prompted a couple of times.

For me Done looked a bit off the pace at times on Tuesday. Was on his heels a lot and anticipated little for the first 70 mins. Bully had a much better game than him.

Sure knows where the net is though.

Might get some stick for saying this, but, and whisper it quitely, Done is not that good

No one can question Done`s work rate, and eye for a tap in, but his overall quality, and ability to link play, is short of what Adkins requires long term IMO.

Ok while we are in League One, but need better if we get promoted.

Looks better in print , I sensed he was a bit cold in the interview after a big build up for Done ,whereas he praised Sharp. Might be just me.

I know what you mean. I suspect Adkins knows which players he has to keep heaping praise on to maintain confidence levels, and who needs the opposite treatment.

That work rate creates space and openings for Billy and the midfield and options for passes.

he's better than Conor Sammon. And there's no one else so he should play.

Done runs tirelessly and closes down = 'superb work rate'
Scougall runs tirelessly and closes down = 'headless chicken'

Granted Done is far more likely to win the ball than Scougs in most situations, and he gets goals, but it's funny how similar attributes can be spun to make someone sound great or shit.

Done scores goals.

Scougall does not. He has one assist and one goal in the last 18 months. He also falls over a lot when the big boys tackle him.

It's not spin. Done is more valuable.

Done seems to have more purpose in what he does. Get anyone off the kop under 30, get them fit and they'd happily run around for 90 minutes. Which is what Scoogs does. Done offers a bit more than that.
It's disappointing because Scoogs looked like he could be a decent player during his first few months but seems to have gone backwards. I think that may be because there isn't really a role for him in the way NA sets up.
Perhaps a loan would help, to a club that will play him behind a lone striker. Then flog him.

One thing I noticed on Tuesday, why do we put him on the goal line for corners and leave Billy up by the half way line ? It's not as if he's the biggest and there were a couple of occasions when the ball did break towards Billy from their corners but he wasn't quick enough to capitalise. Surely the speedier Done would be better in that position ?

I'd guess because Done played LB sometimes so is probably more switched on to defending, reads the danger a bit quicker.

We aren't blessed with terrifying pace.

Sometimes we'll go for one quick player up front - Scoogs has done it - but it's unusual.

The plan with Billy is to hold it up then wait (and wait and wait) till midfield can join in and take it from there.

We're never going to slice dynamically through awe struck opponents.

Heading off up the pitch just leaves anyone isolated and likely to pointlessly cede possession.

Hold it up and play football.

To be fair, Done was generally back at the half way line before Collins et al had made it out of our area :)

I love Matt Done! Just saying! That man's effort is just incredible but he backs it up with goals and assists. Only Akinbiyi and Dean Saunders can compare on effort over the years in his position. It's a shame Billy isn't a foot taller because he can hold the ball up really well, but isn't tall enough to win the headers that a bigger guy can. Not saying we have to play the big man small man combo but in this league you do need a bit of aerial presence up top.
