There is not much in it at all. Baldock also passes the eye test in this regard. Its just a shame he doesn't have the incredible other half to his game that makes TAA the best in the world IMO.

Our wing backs are ace, that is not in doubt. They are not perfect but expend more energy than any other players in the squad hence why we need top class competion like Cash (Ryan Sessegnon would be handy on the left) to come in and challenge their position. I think it's unrealistic for the same 2 wing backs to perform to their max over a full season given the amount of energy they burn every game.

George and Enda work very, very hard but are not and never will be Premiership quality, (that said, Matty Cash may never be Premiership quality either). They are typical CW signings who have been outstanding for us and work well in our system but at times their technical ability has been seriously lacking, although on others they have been outstanding, (George's goal at Norwich and Enda's v Brighton spring to mind).

Cash fits the CW bill, he has a very good engine and will work very hard. Would he be an upgrade on George? possibly but he is 100% an upgrade on the departing K Freeman. A cynic could say that George played every minute of our campaign last year simply because he had no competition for the shirt, mind you, that could be said for most of the squad!

We desperately need quality strength in depth and competition for shirts. Cash would bring that IMO.

We have the usual speculation over myriad options for our club to be considered, interested.

The only live options seem to be attack minded players who can also fill more than one position. Consider Osborn’s success in this area.

Maybe Wider realises that the kind of outlay needed for goal scorers plus salaries, is just beyond us at the moment? He is therefore looking to improve the service to our current forwards.

Buying quick, skillful and versatile players for this purpose is typical Wilder. We retain our solid defensive basis, get cover for other positions, and improve the chances/assists from a more aggressive, attacking midfield. Who knows, the likes of Swift and Cash might score a few too.

That would keep the opposition guessing, and it could give the likes of McBurnie a new avenue to his game.

Solves a lot of potential problems for our second premier league season, within a very small budget.

This difference only matters when talking about selling our players - what teams will make a bid and how much.
It’s not unreasonable to underprice our players (in the transfer market) if the pundits, the fans, the media and the managers of big clubs simply won’t entertain players from unfashionable clubs.
It doesn’t mean they aren’t PL Quality - just as good as a top six player, or even better, it’s more a case of “not enough media sparkle” to generate a £75 million offer.

Saw him and CW in the botanist last night, apparently cash wanted to come down on Thursday, CW said bollocks to that you can come any day on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and he could meet him anywhere as long as that place was doing 'eat out to help out' CW even said he would cover the bill

Max Aarons to Bayern Munich (£20m) & Ben Godfrey to AC Milan (£50m)..

With the likely sale of Buendia (£25m) & Cantwell (£15m) Norwich will have done pretty well financially out of their embarrassing little jaunt up to the Premier League.

You're saying the system makes the players, that's the crux of it. That implies that you could basically stick anyone in there and they'd be good enough (I know that's the extreme version of your point).

Basham would struggle (potentially) in a 2 but is more than capable of being a superb RCB in any team that plays 5 at the back. I genuinely can't name 10 CB's I'd rather have in that role. To me that makes him definitively a PL player.

With Baldock, who are the 5 RB's/RWB's in the Premier League you'd rather have? Stevens dropped off after lockdown (hugely, shouldn't have been on the pitch) but pre-that created more chances than any non-Liverpool defender. Only a couple of times all season did he definitively "lose" to his opposite number and one of those was Pereira at Leicester who's as good as anyone.

If you're saying Premier League class is top 2 then fine, they aren't good enough. But who are all these players you think are so much better than them???? The two "superstars" at Norwich were woeful all season but they are being tagged at £10m+ just because they are young. Our players are infinitely superior in any system.

Only point you made which I don't agree with was the final sentence. Some are too quick to dismiss them, some (including me) really appreciate our current set of players and recognise their talents in full (I also recognise their bad days too unlike some).
