i stand by what I said. IMHO We should get Matt Taylor in from Bristol Rovers along with a quality quick defender and this team will win promotion.
CHEAP alternatives have been the norm for many seasons and see where it's got us. Hanson will be no better than what we already have. Playing McNulty was a tactical error by Wilder too.
Its time for the board to support the manager and the Prince to make it happen otherwise it will be the play offs yet again I fear, no support from the board yet again that's why Wilder brought him back off loan.
Taylor needs to be signed, scoring for fun at a struggling team.
Its no use saying it ain't gonna happen because to be honest we really don't have any option if we want automatic

Matt Taylor would not have stopped sloppy defending for both goals. Ok we didnt score tonight cos we were off the pace in an attacking sense, but we need to stop conceding goals like they are going out of fashion.

We look all over the shop at the back and teams who win things dont consistently conceded silly goals. They keep clean sheets.

Time to work on that defence Chris. For me, id drop EEL and put Wright in. EEL has been poor recently and doesnt deserve a place in the team at the moment.

Would you like to pay for him, pal?

:D

The board hasn't given Wilder the money for a Matt Taylor .
The reason the Rovers were promoted was Taylor's goals.
He ended the season as the top goalscorer in the top four English leagues with 27 goals. They would ask for to a fee well out of the Blades budget.
Wilder stated we are not in the market for expensive players anymore.

Wilder has stated tonight our transfer business in and out is done this window.
End of thread.

Funnily enough goal scoring doesn't seem to be the problem, ok we haven't scored tonight but I can't remember the last time we didn't score in a match, no, I think the problem still lies at the other end of the pitch. You can win 1-0 but not if your defence keeps leaking goals.....

Matt Taylor would have done nothing tonight.
If Sharp can't score when a team defend in numbers denying space then how his is Taylor going to score?

In a packed penalty area you need someone with brawn and presence to shake things up.

Let's see how the Hanson option works before writing it off as a failed transfer.
He's not even played for us and already some of our fans are writing him off.

True but if we create 12 chances a match you would expect us to convert maybe 4 of them.
Then even if the defence let in 3 goals. We've still won 4-3 and gained 3 points.

It's not the goals, scored that's the problem, it's the poor conversion rate.
We have double the chances of our rivals but we haven't scored double their goal tallies.

Appreciate though that sooner or later you need to have a steady defence because we can't expect to keep creating so many chances and tonight was a case in point where for the first time in ages we hardly created any clear cut chances.
