I've been told that were in for this lad, as his loan has just ended with Brizzle.

And that where Clough says something could happen before the weekend this is him.

He's had a bit of a strange career, best part of 3 years at Oldham without achieving much then two relatively big money moves yet shipped out by both clubs pretty quickly.

Once got a straight red for taking out Reda Johnson though so not all bad......

Him or COG and a big, strong dominant centre back would do and give us a decent chance.

Preston having now won 5 on the bouce and 9 points clear look a decent bet for 2nd place. I'd much rather face MK or Swindon in the play offs if it has to be via that route.

Not sure what situation is but hes been on loan at 3 Clubs so it will probably only for a period of time this year

I would be pleasantly surprised if this happened, he seems really friendly with Bristol city and has scored 13 goals in 20 games in league and cup for them. Having said this though if we get him until the end of the season I think we will definitely get promotion.

Wilbraham is back from injury now so maybe that's why Smith could be available

If we had him until the end of the season, I would all of sudden become very confident of a playoff win...

I am sure i heard that he cannot play for another club due to the amount of sides hes played for this year?

in all comps he's had 13 goals in 17 appearances for bristol this year :)

Can't you can only play for a maximum of 3 clubs in one season ? Leeds, Fulham and Bristol City (loan) must mean he's stopping at Fulham.

A surprising fact in his Wiki.

"One of Smith's best friends is English comedian Jack Whitehall whom he met at university".

According to the Wiki above he played for Leeds last season. Just Fulham and Bristol C this season...

Seems a bit strange if Clough is saying nothing doing for tonight but may be sorted by the weekend. 93 days to the PO final today (inclusive), so no reason from that point of view to have to wait until the weekend to fit the play-offs in. With the ridiculous rules regarding max three clubs, can only play for two but doesn't matter if it's an 'emergency', it probably takes 4 or 5 days to write the contract !

The emergency loan windows is a joke anyway. This is only an emergency for us because we've not managed to sign the players we wanted permanently. It's not like we had a load of strikers who all got injured and now all we have is my mum upfront.

Yep, a joke of a system. I seem to remember when it came in it was just for goalkeepers i.e a specialised, potentially emergency requirement.

The whole point of transfer window was to stop clubs buying their way to success. I can understand closing the window in February so as to stop clubs buying players at the business end of the season but the rest is a farce.

Higdon's injured and has been for the last 9 games (inc tonight)
We're conceding goals from set pieces at the drop of a hat
We can't make a set piece of our own trouble the opposition goal keeper for a bag of toffees

Too right it's a fucking Emergency!

We're desperate for a powerful striker and I don't think we can't afford to wait any longer. If our first, second and third choice are unavailable, let's bring in our fourth choice tomorrow.

I think even getting in the fourth choice seems to be too big an ask for this club.

Fulham striker on loan at Bristol City last season. 7 goals in 14 games. Big physical presence, unlikely to play at Fulham and no move from Bristol City yet.

Worth an enquiry I think.
