To be fair wilder hasn't covered himself in glory this weekend . Wether he learns from it is debatable at his age .

Because he's still working up his match fitness and presumably the medical tests in training showed that another game so soon would have been too much of a risk.
It's not a big surprise when you buy players who haven't been involved in pre-season games.

Which for some reason appears, yet again, to be the market we are in. Players who can’t get a game with their current club. Yet McGuinness is told he’s not wanted but we get him fit for someone else.

However it doesn’t explain the ongoing issues through the season for these type of players.

Explain Shackleton. How long has he been here?

Too long probably.
I think he really is one of these infamous injury prone players (don't know what his time with Leeds was like)

A question our board should be asking.
Exactly...we sign a player as back up and then when hes needed to back up the first choice right back hes not trusted to do so by the man who signed him. Now it looks like we are going to sign a central midfielder to play right back whilst the first choice right back is out. What kind of madness is this?

The same kind of madness that sees us with a back 5 and 3 defensive midfielders to a newly promoted team and still conceded nearly 30 shots.

We can’t even be a negative team properly. I’d love to know what the happy clappers see that gives them so much confidence other than “he was a good manager 10 years ago”.

Ive largely supported Wilder but its becoming more difficult when all he seems to do is sign slow aging players with questionable fitness records on big wages with no resale value.

Rothwell, Jairo, Phillips, Doherty, BBD and now Choudhury have no pace, offer little going forward and arent going to develop into better players that we can sell for a profit.

If you're looking for back-ups on frees or loans, would you expect to sign anyone who's a regular in their team?
Don't forget the loan/free decision has only been very recently brought in.
Everyone has to get used to it ASAP.
(and the advice to not select Docherty for the Cardiff game would have been from the medical team not CW.
The medical team who everybody finds fault with when anyone picks up an injury!

Surely three draws and two wins in the cup is how to be a negative team properly? Do proper negative teams score loads of goals and win every game?

Given their recent record if the medical team told me the sky is blue I would go outside and check!

He should probably play on Saturday.

He isn’t going to get match practice sitting on the bench.

He won’t be against Brooks. McCallum or RND will be charged with keeping him quiet. I don’t mind Choudhury in principle but he is a little limited in that role. I wouldn’t mind having a look at Doherty at least.

What's going on with him? Been on the bench now for last 2 games and not come on despite being desperately needed.
Add Curtis to that conversation. Rather than play a specialist RB, we've opted to got with a CDM who once had a good game there two years ago ..

As much as the owners are getting pelters, it's decisions like this which keep people sceptical of Wilder.

It seems he's this years pointless waste of money

Why oh why can we not use our limited budget wisely? Why must we always sign shit injury prone (or past it) players with it?

Wolves fans said his legs gone.

Everytime wolves have played on tv over the last couple of years he’s looked like he was towing a trailer up and down the pitch.

Plays 65 mins and it’s killed him

Then what we really needed when the back up is crap is the back up to the back up is actually an expensive defensive midfielder playing out of position.

Older, unfit players on high salaries, with little or no resale value versus younger, fitter players on lower salaries, with potential resale value.

Tough choice.
Which is why the loaning of Curtis is the microcosm of our current predicament.

Young, (very) inexperienced, yet energetic, fit, nippy RB or aged, experienced, slow, unfit RB?!?!

I get why they wanted Curtis to have the immortal 'League One Loan's but if we're down to the bones of our arses, I'd rather save money and have an inexperienced back up RB and spend the money on attackers....
