No chance.
What makes you think it will be off Houso? I'm not saying you're wrong by the way but am driving over from Manc for this one so just trying to gauge as many opinions as possible. Not much snow forecast for Sheffield that I can see and plenty of time for even Sheffield's authorities to have roads gritted.

I think given the fact that very little of the snow will melt away, and what does will turn to ice in the freezing temperatures, the decision will be made (perhaps not by SUFC) to call the match off due to conditions around the ground.

Hopefully not of course!

I'm gonna keep an eye on social media to see if the game is on. I've got a train at 12:00pm from here so will have time to check social media. Utb

On the news today there's a red warning for Scotland and the same issued for SE England and Wales. On the national news it's bad in Lincs and on Look Leeds there was a reporter standing in 2mm of snow dust panicking at their prospects. Nowt about Sheffield of course as we don't exist. Except it was tipping it down most of yesterday and all of this morning and there's a foot of snow around our estate which you can't get in or out of.

Nah, not much happening around here.

Think it will be off.

Pavements will be icy & treacherous.

Hope not cos it would see us overtaken, then have to go to Fulham.
Could be 5 points off the play offs by the time we go to Ipswich!

Bit negative that, sorry :)

o_O:(:(:(

Games have been postponed in the past for less, I expect no different.

What we've got to remember is how incredibly precious people really are. At the end of the day, if the game goes ahead and just one person slips and bruises their elbow outside the ground the decision makers need sending to prison.

What you’ve got to remember is that not everyone is as able bodied as yourself.

Makes you wonder how we got away with the fatalities and serious injuries to fans in years gone by when games were played in these conditions.

I bet we've not even got an orange ball :(

What’s the limit then, one death? How can we quantify?

Personally I think the decision will be made tomorrow morning as we’re going to get the worst of it tonight

Also it’s not how precious people are anymore. It’s how many people make claims
And head teachers admit to closing schools for this reason

I live about a mile from bramall lane & if the burton game goes ahead in 48hrs. I'll be very surprised. Because yesterday we had so much snow you couldnt tell were the road ended & pavement began. Woke up this morning to even more snow

So then do what you can based on your abilities and don’t expect the majority to pander to your specific needs when there’s no issues for them.

Or just play it at a later date when everyone can get there. It’s not like anyone will suffer from it being called off

I sense this thread going in a worrying direction, but what I would say is that if the weather stays as it is, then we'll potentially get a much lower crowd than were it to be rearranged for an evening kick-off. Throw in the fact that it will give more people the chance to get to the game (both home and away support), and though disappointing, I would certainly understand the reasons for rescheduling.

Wow, even the word pander puts a cherry on the top of this one!
Yeah, my wording was harsh there I’ll admit. What I’m saying is, if 50 can do something but 1 can’t, then the 50 should get their way at the hinderance of one rather than the one get their way at the hindrance of 50.

Well to start with, the team will suffer. They’ll have to play 3 games in 8 days which will have a knock on effect of tiredness and definitely won’t help our precarious play off ambitions. Then there’s the people who can’t make evening games for a multitude of reasons.

What you’ve got to remember is that not everyone wants to risk life and limb to hear you sing.....:)

Currently scheduled to play 3 in 8 if it goes ahead
Plenty of folk can't make Saturday(s) but can make midweek "for a multitude of reasons" ( including current inclement weather) - I'm setting off walking from Sunderland now to make sure I get there in time on Satdi
They'd better not call it of or I will be MIGHTLY disgruntled

Get it sorted McCabe you twat

I work at the business centre at the ground. The pitch and stands will be OK and the main roads are OK. Obviously public transport will be fully operational and there is plenty of car parking in town so travel won't be the problem

The issue will be the streets surrounding the ground. John Street, Shoreham Street and Cherry Street have not been cleared yet and nor have any of the side roads near the ground.

Sounds like the snowflakes are getting to the snowflakes. Bunch of fucking wimps.

I like the look of that forcast and this ones starting to back it up although not with huge snowfalls:

Think its too hard to forcast for us at the moment, yesterday the radar said it would stop snowing in about 30 mins but said this all day while it dumped down. Wasnt supposed to snow much today but then the wind looks to have changed and is pushing it up from the south now bringing another bank of snow with it.

Id be very surprised if the games on, dont think the buses have even started running up here in crookes yet and cant see them starting any time soon
