I'll get pelters for this, but anyone else got over yesterday and now feeling excited about potentially three additional games this season, each with loads of jeopardy, great atmospheres, and may include a visit to Wembley?

I'd rather piss the league, but that's not happening.

I know there's load of understandable pessimism around given we aren't playing great, so the playoffs could just be two more miserable games and we're out, but if you are a home and away match-going fan, you don't just go for the results, you go for much more than that, surely?

I'm genuinely feeling excited about it today. Something additional to look forward to. Life's an adventure.

My personal choice is Bristol City, Millwall or Boro, in that order. Not for threat reasons, just preferred away days. Cov, WBA are a bit blah

Tbh Cappy, I’m disappointed the way it’s happened but it is what it is. Going up via the play offs would be a new high and one to tell the grandkids about but if we’d have done It the way we all thought we would a week ago, I’d have been more financially happier. I’m now thinking £50-£100 for a day out in the first leg, an extra £30 for the second (as play offs are not included with the season ticket), and a £100 day out at Wembley.

Would have much rather us sealed the top 2. But hey ho

The cost is definitely a bummer pal, agreed and I glossed over that very real issue.

I charge a daily rate, so every day off is an exact amount I know I will miss out on. I try not to think about it too much as otherwise calculating holiday costs can look crazy

Dem costly blades

Edit: You’ve reminded me of Jono on the Shoreham View vid from the QF v Blackburn when he was asked by Jonny to make a prediction. He said something along the lines of, “a day out at Wembley will set me back about £200 total, so we are definitely gonna get through to the semis”

Proper Yorkshireman 😆😍

This all depends what kind of format we enter the playoffs in? Current form I'd fear for us over 2 legs against any of the teams in the mix. If wr win a couple at the back end maybe would feel more positive I just cannot understand the drop off after the Coventry game

If you're excited about the prospect of the play offs and a visit to that North London house of horrors (as far as the Blades are concerned), then I can only assume that either you're still a child, and therefore not old enough to have suffered the many, many traumas that the rest of us have endured over the years there, or you're just recovering from a recent lobotomy.

Either way, my response to your frankly ludicrous suggestion that any Blade can ever look forward to the play offs/Wembley is:

Complacency.

No.
Just the agony of at least 6 more games with the Wilder in charge.

Don't feel remotely excited.

However, I'm not as negative about us in play offs in general like many are. Although I naturally understand why.

My way of looking at it is that winning the Champ PO final at Wembley is realistically the biggest single game we can win. No-one alive has seen us win at Wembley.

After so much PO disappointment you hope that our time must come.

If we don't win this year then I believe we will officially have the worst PO record in England if you include the old style one in 1988.

I guess on the one hand if there's one club to have that record many will say it's bound to be us being the trophy dodgers we are, but surely we've also got to believe we'll have at least that one day in the sun in more than a lifetime. Every other club of our stature, and many smaller, have.

It's just difficult to see a turnaround in belief and form at present.

I've a nagging feeling Coventry have their name on it.

My two kids have had their first season tickets this season and have loved it.

They are also excited that we may reach Wembley, and want to go.

So yes I'm excited for them, and if by pure fluke Watford do Burnley Friday, it's back in our hands.
That’s the spirit! 😂😆

If the performances don’t make a marked improvement over the next 4 games the home leg will be a poor attendance.

If the club don’t sort out their ability to sell tickets for high profile games and the team continues in their current trajectory the final, were we to get there, would be one of the worst attended from a Blades perspective of the last few Wembley trips and we wouldn’t sell out.

Most fans know based on what’s been seen this season that an attritional 1 nil is what we’d be playing for and we’ve been there and done that enough times to know how it works out.

Mate we need to meet up before the season finishes, with the lads. My thoughts are exactly the same, enjoying every minute with my lad. We’re currently in Bristol after failing to get home from Plymouth, staying over, making the most of a good city.

Send me a message and we will meet for a beer.

I'll lock back in for the playoffs when they get here but think the next few weeks will be hard work to muster up much enthusiasm. Can't imagine how we play changing at all now so it's really just a case of managing the squad properly for the playoffs, which isn't exactly something to set the pulse racing on a match but match basis!

Until we lose to Cardiff 😂

I'm not especially excited about the possibility of 3 extra games although I will no doubt be sucked into attending - a day out at Wembley doesn't fill me with enthusiasm though.
The son of my Devon friend and his mate enjoyed the game yesterday but didn't rub it in afterwards 😉
A day walking on the coast took my mind off it today.

I’m in complete pre season mode now these next two home matches are dead rubbers which I will attend but the results have nothing riding on them for us,

I am not doing the play off games as we have no chance even if we got to Wembley. This side is shot to pieces.

If I supported a normal club absolutely. You'd be buzzing for it. Unfortunately our fans will make the whole experience totally negative (like they have most of the season) unless we happen to be winning in the last minute of the play off final. In that case there might be a bit of glory hunting just before the final whistle.

Actually, scratch that, I've been infected too. A normal fanbase would be saying win all our games and Burnley lose one more and that stranger things have happened at the business ends of seasons...

It’s early days but really struggling to get excited given our play-off history. ATM it feels like whoever we play it will make no difference because we’ll lose anyway.

Also anybody who criticises our attendances at these games need their head looking at given our play off history.

We’ve had too many kicks in the teeth to be up for any big one off game, Be that play-offs or cup. In fact those that do and will turn up are remarkable and there’s not many, if any clubs out there with supporters who’d match us given the circumstances.

Still, I’ll probably be there, god knows why and hopefully one day we’ll all be rewarded.

You mark my words..................................... we are going to win the last 4 games and go up in automatic. I'll refer you all to this post on 3 May!

Not looking forwards to last 2 home games, though season ticket means I'll go, 2 boring clubs Cardiff & Blackburn hardly raises interest after last week especially, will give play off final a miss if we get there and put money to season ticket for next year, hoping again for better days
