As a CB I have more faith in O'connell, obviously EEL has been great and is loved for all the right reasons, and his goals help. But O'connell is the better CB for me.

How nice to argue over who is the better CB rather than who is the worse though.

Just cant let it cloud any decisions that need to be made at HT. It did sound like we were under a fair bit of pressure.

Best game I've seen for a while. I was hoping to hang on to 1-1 at half time then we scored. Sitting with the Southend fans and there's a guy three seats down wearing a Wednesday cap. He's right narked.

Odd game so far – looked well on top and creating plenty of openings till their equaliser against the run of play, then were struggling till we went ahead (again, against the run of play).

Coutts and Fleck struggling to run things in midfield so far. Great finishes by EEL & JOC – added to that I think Basham has been decent.

I have been stood by a fan that has been adding insight with every pass – Done has been getting lots of criticism (he doesn't seem to realise Lavery is playing). I may have to move...

Also seems that their front 3 are causing plenty of problems and finding space. Sounds like Laffery's been poor.

I think it might be a time to go to 4 at the back, and move Basham into midfield.

Maybe Carruthers on for Lavery and have him and Duffy supporting Sharp, and look to get hold of the midfield a bit more.

Freeman being better at wing back is no reason not to switch to a back 4.

We've used the diamond sort of thing plenty of times. That could give us more midfield control. Bring Carruthers on and we could have 5 in midfield.
