chapman makes his return wonder if he could score his 5th of the season today

Great away day, some performances by Coutts, some sublime passes.

Great 3 points, all pressure on Bolton now. Just received a text from my brother their coach window just been put through something always spoils it.

I can see the headlines now.

Done and dusted

Vale 0-3 Sheffield United
Done 1

:)
I will make a prediction but I shouldn't. I can't predict exact scores 4 times in a row. Let's wait until Monday morning because 12 points clear with a plus 10 goal difference over notlob or whoever happened to be second.

Drunk post from happiness. This preseason is going to be very interesting.

Getting into the ground 5 minutes in due to delays getting to Stoke, I missed O'Shea's opener, but saw everything else in what was a calm and controlled performance.

Clarke's finish was excellent. Done, visibly our worst player, finished well to make the scoreline more reflective of the performance.

Quick ratings...

Clarke 8/10 – seemed to make an excellent save just after half-time when we were caught napping. Couple of decent punches out, handling was good all game.

Basham 7.5/10 – very good stint at right-wingback till Freeman came on, linking well with Coutts. Had a hand in Clarke's goal from his defence-stretching run.

EEL/Wright/JOC 7.5/10 – all really solid

Done 6/10 – a reminder that he isn't a particularly good wingback, though to be fair to him he tried and did finish well when it opened up for him. But for much of the game it was a case of misjudging runs and passes, tackling like a forward. I'm sure he'll be off in the summer, so it's nice he's had a moment like he had in injury time.

Coutts 8/10 – pick of the midfielders today, some lovely passes that opened up the Vale defence today, linked really well with Basham and Clarke.

O'Shea 7/10 – Mark might be higher when I see the goal. Did well.

Fleck 7/10 – did well overall, though got caught in possession a couple of times.

Sharp 6.5/10 – his play on the ball was generally good, but too often displayed frustration, particularly after blatantly (and needlessly) hauling players down when they're shielding the ball. I feel when if he scores vs Bradford he'll have get a couple more before the season's out.

Clarke 8.5/10 – best player on the pitch today. A tad selfish with some second half chances, but his finish was superb and he was a menace all game, using his strength and acceleration to good effect.

Can't say I particularly wanted to hang around at full-time. Fiery scenes in the ground (both figuratively and literally at times).

No pressure at all. Their chances are too negligible to mention. It's over. The best team in the league by many a mile are Champions!
Its been like that since we went top. Not sure anyone has really given us any pressure. It all comes down to worrying about ourselves rather than those around us... or below us

Clarke must have had a blinder at both ends LB..haha.
Cracking finish on the volley.

This is the day my Chesterfield-supporting son & heir has his first away trip with the Blades and changes his entire future for the better. No more depression, no more conversing with people who sound as if they are in a Shane Meadows film, no more "Bob's Board".

I owe it to him, really.

It didn't work, sadly. He dislikes the Blades now whereas he liked us before. The drunken cunts fighting each other in the second half made him not want to come to see us any more, and I can't really blame him.

One twat even wanted to pick a fight with me. I'm 5 ft 7 and the little hair I have left is white. Brave of him to try to pick on an old bloke, I thought.

The team played well, though.

If you can be arsed, here's a little summary. http://nonpignews.blogspot.co.uk/
