I felt it would be a tough game as they were very competive last season. We were better team over the 90mins. Had few good chances in that 1st half. We deserved a draw neither side for the 1st 65mins really forced a save from the keeper. But bristol city had a great 15 min spell where we were hanging on & they scored. like Keith Edwards said in tight games you have to make the most of being on top higher up the divisions you go. Bristol city did, we didnt. We got punished

Im not worried But no team wins every week. Unless your man city for 1st 5 months of 17/18. Its the performance that matters. we will bounce back. In 4 of next 5 games. We played 17th 19th 21st & 23rd. We are 5th?? 3 pts off the top so the points are there

No Fleck
No Stream
No Goals
No Points
No Party - and it’s my birthday :-(

just seen the goal
total fluke :(

Total fluke maybe but did you expect anything else
I listened to the commentary and we were doing ok
Then Sharp and Duffy have gone without getting us at least a 2-0 lead and the writing was on the wall

didn’t expect anything after i heard flecky was out tbh..
still a fluke though he just meant to nod it on and the damned thing swerved in :)

Billy subbed off again for no reason.

For a fucking left back.

Are you the guy who makes CW seem like a bloody amateur? So just because you with your mighty knowledge of football and intimate knowledge of the squad couldn't see a reason to sub Billy (and Duffy) you assume CW didn't have a reason to do it. I don't know why he did it either although I would guess he wants them in the starting line up for the three games this week and doesn't want them burnt out but you're probably correct, he did it for no reason whatsoever.

Fleck is the only player we lack any sort of replacement for.

Take him out and we're a very different team, and a pedestrian one.

Sorry but we have no replacement for Norwood either - go back to the early games without him and we never looked like a winning side.

Losing games is shit but getting shithoused 1-0 away from home against a side that will be around the play offs this season is only mildly annoying.

We're very good, but we're not that very good. We will suffer quite a few more shithousings this season.

Norwood played regularly with McDonald and Cairney last season, with McDonald the deeper of the three. Norwood can play the Fleck roll when Coutts is back.

Lundstram did ok yesterday, but is just too slow on and off the ball for our style of play.

I think part of the gloom is Wednesday related (it didn't help that they scored their equaliser about the same time City got their winner). They're coming up on the rails and United fans are slowly coming around to the fact that they're a much better team than they thought. They finished last season like a train and they're building up a head of steam again now.

A defeat is always worse when your hated rivals make ground.

Who?

That's the reason why we won't be in the play off/promotion shake up.

One important player missing and we suddenly look like a team with 10 players and a random thrown in.
Duffy comes off because he can't last 90 minutes and we become a team of nine players and two randoms thrown in.

We have two players for each position, one good enough and one not good enough

Teams with very little meaningful play can get wins against us, but we only need to have one player missing from our strongest eleven and suddenly it doesn't look or feel right. I feared the worst as soon as I saw Fleck was missing.

Obviously didn't watch the game.

Spot on. Hopefully we’ll be able to find someone in January who will at least be a closer fit for Fleck like we’ve done with Norwood for Coutts.

I'd be happy to trade Lundstram for a left sided forward thinking midfielder but I think we're more likely to stay as we are in midfield and use Coutts and Norwood together if Fleck's unavailable, with Norwood playing more of a Fleck role.

I suppose we have Kean Bryan too but obviously he's woefully unfit/unprofessional so he can be disregarded for the time being.

It's far more pressing to get proper competition for Duffy than add to the central midfield further. If Duffy burns out and Woodburn doesn't get his arse into gear, we'll pay a big price.

Marvin Johnson should have started instead of Lundstram. You play your strongest midfield from the start, and Lundstram was and has been for quite a while now the weak-link in the team yesterday. Fair enough we missed Fleck but why start the match with Lundstram, he doesn't contribute anything but a few hard tackles and that's it. I hope Wilder drops him for Coutts when he gets back to action. He's just got to go.

And with Norwood Fleck and Coutts, if their are know flashbacks of his broken leg, in them 3 i think we'll have the strongest midfield
in the league.

But the problem is we need to get these chances we're creating put in the net. Why leave Clarke on bench we should have been 2maybe3 up at half-time. The match should have been won before then. Instead we go and lose to a lucky goal[/QUOTE]

It was the tight game I expected it to be , they took their opportunity and we didn’t , but could have easily been the other way around . Thought we missed Fleck big time yesterday & what he brings to the midfield

You suggested Woidburn yesterday - not a player for that role - now it's Johnson.

Lundstram is part of a midfield that created the chances you agree we missed. If there is to be any approbrium - God knows why other than I know more than Wilder posts - it should be saved for our strike force. For those who need to appportion blame anyway.

Imagine if Clarke had missed them, Lundstram wouldn't get a mention on here for all the skating he'd have got.

Yes,just watching it back with no sound on ifollow...agree...could have gone either way in a tight game...CW rightly went with a winning team imo, with the exception of Lundstram in for Fleck, whereas Lee Johnson changed it around despite 3 straight wins..leaving Taylor out,and switched from their normal 442 to match us up..his gamble payed off,but small margins...They set up to stop and nullify us,which is a complement, then changed shape again and went for it a bit more in the last 20 minutes...we looked like the home side to be honest.
We controlled most of the game, but they kept us at arms length...nothing really stuck up top and couldn't get the wing backs in,or create overloads in wide areas.
Missed Fleck ofcourse...hopefully fit for the Birmingham game.

Also, in other news, Rotherham beat Derby, Norwich beat 'Boro, Leeds scraped a draw with Millwall.

It happens.

We played well and lost to a scrappy, flukey goal.

I'm sorry pal but all ya big word's can go where the sun doesn't shine for me, i don't mean any disrespect either, but no matter who or which position player's go about their buisness and stats i don't care. I go by the 11 player's on the pitch and Lundstram is garbbage always has been and always will be.

It's clear to see that Mcgoldrick had a bad game aswell. I see it as you start a match with your strongest possible 11 and i see Marvin Johnson as a better player than Lundstram, by a long way, and Clarke should have started aswell instead of Mcgoldrick to be honest i really don't know why Wilder gave him a 12 month contract anyway but that ship's sailed, Clarke and Billy done deal upfront for me.

The match could have been over in the first half but Clarke was benched, he could have had a couple a goals if not 3, if the chances fell for Billy it would have clearly been a different end to losing 1-0. It should have started with Norwood Duffs and Johnson in midfield, who knows if Woodburn would have made any difference if Wilder would have gave him a run out.

All im trying to say Sean is Mcgoldrick and Lundstram are not quality Championship player's. Sorry pal.
