That's the reason why we won't be in the play off/promotion shake up.

One important player missing and we suddenly look like a team with 10 players and a random thrown in.
Duffy comes off because he can't last 90 minutes and we become a team of nine players and two randoms thrown in.

We have two players for each position, one good enough and one not good enough

Teams with very little meaningful play can get wins against us, but we only need to have one player missing from our strongest eleven and suddenly it doesn't look or feel right. I feared the worst as soon as I saw Fleck was missing.

I don't know who they're better or worse than. I just know they're shite.

Never have any idea where the ball is or what's happening until the final pass before the shot.

Don't get a proper indication of the performance level etc.

And they cut away for about a combined 10 minutes every game to tell us what Sheffield, sorry Doncaster Rovers are doing, unbelievably, even in the 94th minute at `1-0 in our game and 3-1 in theirs.

Then there's Keith and his old man bollocks.

Not worth listening to. I won't bother next time. Suppose it's another reason to attend the game.

Who was the main commentator today? He's fucking terrible.

Have to admit today was particularly shite. Don’t mind Edwards if I’m honest but the main commentator today was awful

PANIC............

bloodyhell, I'm reading this, and it's like were about to be relegated!!!
We really missed Fleck today, shame Couttsy couldn't have taken his place as Lundstrum seems to be the next 'Lee Evans, but, shit happens.
We lost, we should've won, we didn't draw, but we get back up and go again.
Wilders obviously seen that his substitutions failed again, but it's 1 game.
I'm pissed off we lost, but it's not the end of the world, there's plenty of time to finish top 10 again!!
Relax.

Nothing personal.
I think he's a crap footballer at this level. If I was being personal I would say something akin to he's a crap bloke or he drowns puppies. You're not the sharpest tool in the box are you?

On Lundstram, we've lost all four games in which he's started (if we stretch the definition of loss to include the penalties against Hull in the League Cup) and won all four games in which he hasn't.

Correlation is not causation and all that but fuck me if that isn't a damning statistic. And it was much the same last year. Now I don't know if he's a jonah, a poor fit for our team or just an inadequate footballer but we cannot afford to keep playing him. He was a key player in our slide from 1st to 10th last season and the pattern is continuing.

Not been today so not qualified to judge but reading reports we missed a hatful of good chances (any by JL?) and I’m not aware that Lundstram was at fault for their goal. Unless someone can enlighten me I’m struggling a bit to understand why this was his fault, unless of course it’s just that some people on here desperately have to have a scapegoat in our team and he’s the latest.

He’s not Fleck but it’s purely conjecture that we would have won with him playing

How can you possibly put the blame on Lundstrum? He didn't miss three glaring chances in the first half. Go on, explain!!!!
Agreed. I’m not a big fan of Lunny, but today’s defeat was down to our inability to score on the day, and our continuing issue of not keeping enough clean sheets. A 0-0 would have done us just fine today.

Fleck is the only player we lack any sort of replacement for.

Take him out and we're a very different team, and a pedestrian one.

yes its very disappointing. We didn't deserve to lose though. We played really well first half and should have been leading. So im not to disheartened. Its not like be got out played and deserved to lose. Still gutted though.

Both sides looked pretty decent today. It was a tight but entertaining game.
Thought their goal was good and you could sense it was coming. We were starting to lose possession through basic errors.
We lacked that killer touch up front and we definitely missed Fleck’s driving runs today. No one really ran at the defence Brooksy-style.
However, a little bit more accuracy and we could easily have had three goals today.
Still not sure how McGoldrick’s header didn’t hit the target.

Relax.

I think part of the gloom is Wednesday related (it didn't help that they scored their equaliser about the same time City got their winner). They're coming up on the rails and United fans are slowly coming around to the fact that they're a much better team than they thought. They finished last season like a train and they're building up a head of steam again now.

A defeat is always worse when your hated rivals make ground.

Go away pork lover

Why the F*** is Lundstram still wearing a blades shirt. He should have f****d off to Wigan instead of Lee Evans. He's a national league player, ive never liked him from day one. Why not play Woodburn from start, the young lad has got more talent in his big toe than what f****n Lundstram has in his whole career. It stinks to high heaven of the shite Lundstram brings to a game of football, sorry my mistake, he shouldn't have been signed. Chrissy Wilder please play Couttsy next match, and f*** that piece of s*** in midfield off, he's got to go. Unbelievable choice from signing Lundstram in the first place, should never have been brought into club. It's a shite state of affairs if Lundstram ever play's again. Sorry for language to the MOD'S but surely you and many other's can see how s*** Lundstram is.

Not a fan then???? :)

We're 5th and have just lost away from home to a team who are now 3rd.

We played ok on an offday but they didn't dominate us and a draw would have been a fair result. I doubt their manager or fans would argue with that.

We now have 2 home games against teams in 21st & 23rd. Win those and we're averaging 2points per game from the first 9 games.

Also above likes of Frank Lampard's Derby County, Villa, Forest, Stoke, Swansea, West Brom and Pigs.

A lot to be positive about really & I can't wait for midweek

Because Woodburn is an attacking midfielder. If he plays then the defence has no protection and we get beat 3 or 4 nil

Disagree,
Wednesday were quite poor again today. Stoke dominated possession, has more shots and more corners, they were like the home side. Also Wednesday have recently struggled to beat the teams near the bottom.

Their performances this season suggest they’re more likely to finish bottom half than top half.

The subs didn't do anything to change that game. Made us look much weaker. Johnson wasted the ball several times.

Lundstram was very much 5/10 again, game seems to pass him by.

totally agree with this. Take the main threats we have off in Sharp and Duffy and then we never looked like doing anything in the final third. No need at all to take them off unless they were injured, which they didn't seem to be . Yes Lundstram was a passenger but those subs conceded possession and ultimately the game to Bristol.

Look at the handbags panicking. Fucks sake. Bristol got lucky, that goal was just a flukey flick on. We wasted so many chances in that first half, however some of our play was lovely. We have the players just need to be more clinical...and if anyone can name a striker who would come to us that we can afford who you can guarantee will score goals then name one cos I cant

I don't think we have a Duffy replacement either - Woodburn clearly isn't up to snuff. Though we can get around it by playing a different shape.

People are being asked to demonstrate why Lundstram is at fault for today, by the same token can he apologists explain why our record is so terrible with him playing? If not down to him, then what? Bad luck?

I'll try and break down my reasoning without being overly nasty or trying to scapegoat the lad, if possible. For me, even when he plays well (like against Villa) he's a little slow on and off the ball, particularly on the turn. He doesn't move the ball as quickly as Fleck, Coutts or Norwood and therefore even though his passing can be good it gets to our players slower, in worse positions. So it looks like he's playing well but his teammates don't benefit like they do when they play with the other players. I also hear the argument last season 'well he was brought in to replace Coutts which is unfair as he's a different sort of player, he'll be a big player for us, mark my words'.

Today, it's 'well he can't be expected to be a like for like replacement for Fleck, he's a different sort of player'. So if he can't step up and replace Fleck or Coutts, what exactly does he do? He can close down a game nicely but as a starter he can't replace any of the men in front of him.

Wednesday got hammered today according to Sky. They're aren't a good side but will have enough quality to be comfortable. We are a good side but don't have enough quality to be serious contenders.

Duffy had a bad game though. Gave it away from trying to run through people quite a few times today when passes were on.

Just weren't at it today at all.

lundstram was the original lee Evans mate
generally we have a dynamic all action style.. lundstram looks like he thinks he’s in la liga
he simply doesn’t fit
Enda will be pleased anyway that someone has taken in the mantle
1-11 we’re as good as anyone in this league but take one out and we’re screwed

A poor side who came back from two down against a relegated side. God knows what'll happen when they play well.

A few United fans got a bit giddy when they had a few bad results and thought relegation was on the cards. Now they're only a point behind us and their better players have turned up (Bannan, Joao, Nuihui etc). I'm not suggesting they're most Blades are overly bothered about them but it's made today's result sting a bit more.
