Match Thread Match Day Thread: Bristol City v The Mighty Blades

At last back in action after the international break, as we travel to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City. They are on a good run and replicated our result in their last game. However the only team in the division on a longer winning run, is of course, ourselves. We have a good record there, but this is an extremely tough game, so IMO a draw would be an excellent result.

Justification to bring Clarke straight back in?

After the first 2 games, it seemed unlikely after 7 we'd actually have a chance of being top. A lot to ask though today, despite the top 2 facing tricky away games too. Hope we give a good account of ourselves, but a victory for me seems unlikely. Reckon there'll be goals in it though, so I'm going for 2-2 with a Clarke (at some point) scoring.....

We should certainly be looking to win. We're a better team than them. I think, and hope they'll play an attacking game because if it's open we should pass them off the pitch.

Wilder and Knill see the boys everyday and I'll trust whatever XI they put out.

Having said that, dropping McGoldrick to bring Clarke in would be a mistake in my eyes. He was brilliant from start to finish against Villa and I think he'd feel hard done by if he was benched for an out of sorts Clarke.

There will be goyals today (probably just jinxed that) and head says 2-2 with Billy and Duffy bagging. Love another last minute winner though so heart is saying 3-2 with a Kieron Freeman worldie in the 93rd

That's a big blow. Any idea how long he's gonna' be out for?

We'd love to have our best XI fit all season but it's just unfortunate. Lunny needs some game time though and if he plays well today and we get the win...

It throws our entire midfield with Fleck being out.

Not only are we missing Fleck with no proper replacement for him, but Norwood won't be able to slot in as seamlessly as he has previously, in a more demanding role with more attacking responsibility.

Then there's also no ball carrying, forward thinking midfielder for Duffy to regularly link with.
