Our recent dismal form (result wise) doesn't bode well for this evenings difficult trip to Villa. While we haven't been playing that badly, the televised fixture at Villa Park seems an unlikely place for us to turn the run around, a place we haven't won for over 50 years. Combine that with Bruce's 100% win record against us as a manager, and Villa's current solid home form, and it seems this will go only one way......

But anyway...

Any team news?

Favouring Brooks to start in this one?

Duffy presumably returning?

Set up more defensively?

Or continue with the style that has brought us this far?

Rightfully so, we've been receiving numerous plaudits on the style of football we play, but equally the defensive frailties are becoming more obvious and exposed. I can't see us changing too much though this evening, which is why I think there'll be some goals in this one. Any positive result would be a bonus, but I fancy us to break our recent run, with a 3-2 victory.... and the Blades go marching on....

Safe journey folks, and whatever the result, let's remember the realistic expectations of the season, and keep our heads held high...

Tough day at the office for the lads that's for sure.

Whatever happens let's show Wilder and the players we are right behind him both today and at the next home match.

When a big club comes for our manager he will remember how we backed him all the way in bad times and good.

I'm sure the Board will do exactly the same too in more ways than one.

Last time ont telly we put in a brilliant performance and lost,we can do the opposite this teatime #bipolarblades.

Wilder wont change his ways to try and get a result or avoid defeat, its not in his makeup its gungho-ho-ho all the way

Need to stop the rot urgently. Villa have been goal shy of late so I am hoping for 0-0.

Going to be a difficult game. If we hope to get anything we really need to press them for the vast majority of the game, defend well as a unit and not lose the midfield battle.

On the assumption Brooks ins't playing (He'll probably start!):

----------------Moore
------CCV--Stearman---JoC
Baldock-------------------------Stevens
------------Basham--Lundstram
-------------------Duffy
---------Sharp-------Clarke

Bench: Blackman, Slater, Wright, Lafferty, Donaldson, Carruthers, Lavery

There site seems to be a little, err.............confident. Let’s hope Mr Wilder and the rest of the crew can give them a smacked arse!

Never write the Mighty Blades off, let’s give Villa a footballing lesson and lose 3-0.:)

No Coutts, No Fleck, No Brooks?

2-0 to Villa.
:(

Have we enough fit players to even put out a half decent side?

Duffy is obvious and I can imagine Donaldson will cause the Villa defence more problems than Sharp. Plus, given he used to play for Brum, he may well want to prove something.

Stearman again (he says as his head drops into his hands), great.

What the fuck has happened to Brooks? Not even in squad??

If we can scrape a win today it will be great as Cardiff have lost 2nd spot still in reach

No Coutts, Fleck, Brooks, Freeman. Sharp out of form. Let the good times roll. I'm going to have a drink every time they say overlapping CBs. Fuck it, 2-1 to United for no logical reason

At least it's an interesting observation. Usually they just describe every team as "Well organised, hard working, and dangerous from set pieces". Add in a "We know he can hit them from here" before every free kick and that's how they pretended to know anything about a League One team.
