I suppose you could argue that it’s very tight this year?

And if Liverpool hadn’t run away with it though I’m sure people would be saying it was one of the best leagues in ages for that same reason.

The key thing this year is just how good Liverpool have been, I was listening to the totally football show yesterday and they were saying it would be a shame if people started saying their success is down to the league being weak as opposed to their excellence.... this quote is a case of that.

However, any league in which Sheffield United are strong Europa League contenders — for all their admirable qualities and the brilliant stewardship of Chris Wilder — is not displaying strength in depth.”

Arse.
Thanks for giving Wilder something to stick up on the dressing room next match.

To be fair there is quite a compliment in there from him. He is still a prick though.

Give the twat a shovel, let him dig a hole deep enough for himself and his beloved Wet Sham to fall into, never to be seen or heard of again.
I'd become ambivalent about West Ham, what happened years ago is well and truly in the past and they now mean as much to me as, say Brighton or Watford. But then that useless bitter fat twat opens his mouth and suddenly I'm desperate for them to be relegated. That comment is up there with the pigs - if it's a league lacking any depth, how shit must his beloved club be?

Takes the piss this. So inaccurate. We are Champions League contenders.

I remember Chelsea getting about 10k at home. Maybe same can be said about them?

We've been pretty underperforming in his adult life to be fair.

Prior to the late 70s, we'd spent almost 80% of our time in the top flight.

Since then our league placings take the overall average to below 50%.

His comment shows an ignorance to history.

Still, pin that one to the dressing room. Who said Europa League anyway? We're going for the Champions League you Fat xxxx

Did anybody expect anything different from him..

Just how bad are West Ham then Martin ?

Go on, then Samuel - if it's so lacking in quality, why are your lot 18th?!

That's the narrow minded view he's at risk of having. Just because they're so good, doesn't automatically mean the rest are crap. Chelsea have been very good, and are bringing the youth through, Leicester have had their best season since they won the league, Wolves are very consistent....

Thanks for giving Wilder something to stick up on the dressing room next match.

*Fat prick.

We had to put up with these type of comments through our (short) time in the Championship.

Quotes from over in S6 'Well it's not a very strong Championship this season'.

We need to keep using these comments as ammunition to fire us as high up this league as possible

Let's hope it is weak for the next twenty years.

I wondered if our view on Samuel been anti Blade was blinkered

but if ever proof was evident, read him here gushing about Leicester winning the league

I would liken us hitting Europe to Leicester winning the league, in terms of upsetting the traditional top 6, team ethic, breath of fresh air to the neutral

this man is a liability to his employers, he should have professional detachment from any ill feeling towards us

Neck well and truly on block here, but he may have a point you know. Ignore his Spammers allegiance for a minute, and look at the usual stronger teams. City, Chelsea, Arsenal, spurs, all in transition and way below their usual standards. That's all.
To be fair he didn't need to mention us at all to make his point, so fuck him anyway.

The Premier league has been going for about 30 years and if my memory serves me right those clubs, City, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal have been ever presents.

That's millions and millions of £'s that they have received.

We are continually being told 'it's money that's running football nowadays'.

Well if that's the case and considering our past 30 years then transition or no transition we shouldn't be above or competing with any of these clubs.

They should be truly embarrassed.

May be the media is turning. From seeing us as 'definite bottom of the league' to 'well aren't they doing well' and now 'it's a poor league if Sheffield United are pushing for Europe'.

Bring it on.

Reading the first part of his Article I was nodding in agreement with him that The Premier League is much the better off for it now having 4 different winners in 7 years, much more entertaining and competitive than the one or two Team dominated Leagues of Europe..

Then in the final paragraph he 180s his own argument by saying the League lacks strength in depth cos a team who has just been promoted is being competitive.

It’s almost as if he wrote two thirds of his article, went to get a coffee saw a Sky TV spot praising the Blades and possibly commenting on West Ham’s predicament, and come back to his computer to have a spiteful dig at the Blades.

The man is a tool.

It must be so difficult for the man to say any kind words towards us as he detests us so much, so bitter that man, never mind 😂

I take it he wants a premier league where no one can break into the top ten and the rest battle it out to avoid relegation? That would make boring viewing for the international tv audience , which is ultimately where the big money in this league is coming from and would leave the likes of him with nothing to write about.

Blades not in transition?

Dealing with it better because we have the best manager.

That Liverpool have won 24 out of 25 games is enough proof that the league doesn't have as much quality as some would like to think, They're very good but they're not THAT good.

All this talk about how there will have been four different winners in five seasons (it's seven seasons as Man City and Chelsea also won the previous two) doesn't alter the fact that there hasn't been more than a two-horse race for the title in any year I can remember. Often it's like this year with one team out on their own. Only Leicester's win in 2016 was really remarkable.

The highest number of points Barcelona or Real Madrid have ever achieved is 100, both of which they've only ever managed once. City did it two years ago and Liverpool will smash that barrier this season. Last season they achieved 98 and 97 points respectively.

It doesn't help the top of the league that four of the "big 6" are crap right now and that has been to our benefit. Ultimately there's a huge income disparity between all those and the rest of the league which we can't breach.

I think there's truth in Samuel's statement, but it doesn't mean I'm not enjoying what's happening and if his comments give us a little more edge, great.

I'd say we were pretty stable to be honest.

I think that having to integrate international capped player's with champions league experience in to the team is very transitional?

Getting the squad to deal with this type of player coming in without disrupting thing's is something they need to learn, not many have dealt with this in the past including the management team.

Whilst we are living in wonderful times it is still something we have to continue to do successfully even though we seem to have started quite well with it.
