Got to just ask, why?

Not to say he’s a bad squad player at this level however we’re well stocked in the 2 positions he plays.

Leonard's replacement, unfortunately.

We still don’t have the athleticism Leonard provides in midfield. No one else in the squad has it.

Maybe, but I think Mr Basham might argue that point. Bryan is also supposed to put himself about as well, so we'll see.

I wouldn't have let Leonard go either though.

Leonard can run....yay!!
But was average on the ball, looking out of his depth at a club this size, and apparently struggling to settle up here.

Millwall obviously wanted him last year too, had wind (from his agent no doubt) that he wanted to move south and so they put a bid in.
Wilder must have seen the figures, already knew his limitations and thought it good business.
Don’t forget, Leonard was never going to cover midfield with Norwood arriving and Coutts recovering, barring 3 long term injuries. Norwood, Coutts, Fleck, Bash, all ahead of him, with Bryan apparently a player in there too if needed.

No brainier for me. He retains a large slush fund for January when we might need a couple of additions to get us over the line.

Short term contract, can play anywhere across the back, i suspect this is a shrewd signing to cover for the Baldock injury, as we have no real cover should Freeman get injured. Great signing by Wilder and Knill.

Good dependable player Cranie. Model pro during his time with us. Wagner often cited him as a great lad for having round the dressing room for keeping spirits high.

I should add i’d imagine he’d be a centre back in your system, i’m unsure whether he’d cut it in your wing back role.

Good signing that for you, hope he does well!

Sensible.

I liked Leonard but he isn’t good enough on the ball technically to play in our midfield. And to be fair basham can do whatever he does defensively in midfield.

A short term deal makes sense. We can have a look at cranks until January and he has a chance to impress or we look to bring someone in on to cover that role.

Don’t think he’s a world beater but a solid pro and again improve the depth at the back we didn’t really have natural basham cover

No brainier from me too.

And you forgot Lundstram.

We swapped Evans and Leonard for Norwood and also made a profit with extra money coming in? How are we moaning?
