Marlon King?

It is obvious reading through this post there are diametrically opposed views as regards the signing of King - as Brownie has stated the whole thing will probably die down once he gets a couple of goals.
Tomorrows empty seats may be a pointer of how damaging the signing has been - personally I think that if we hadn't been in such a mess we wouldn't have touched him with a barge pole - but desperate times call for desperate measures!

Disappointed to see that DW has gone for someone who is 33 years old, it seems to go against his ideals of bringing youth, if however, it kick starts the front line then its OK with me.

I can live with the rest of the baggage, he has afterall served his time, and it is only fair that he is rehabilitated into society, and given another chance to pick up his life.

All of which is useless if he is watching the ball being passed around between our back four 10 yards outside our own area. As someone else has said, we could have signed RVP (and some would still have moaned) and he wouldn't score goals in our setup...

But he probably would not have missed that chance that Brandy missed against MK Dons, making it likely that we would have more points than we do at the moment!

There was always going to be a lot of empty seats tomorrow, cos we've been proper sh*te lately, and people are finding other ways to spend their gate money on a saturday afternoon for their entertainment

Seriously, there might be three people who don't turn up in protest at King's signing. Even Axel, who feels incredibly strongly about it, is going to turn up...

Someone was telling me the other day that we need someone who is elusive, gets away from people, can open things up, not easily shackled, but needs close attention.

I'm not sure this was what he had in mind though

Wish I could be there. You guys who are so opposed to M. K. Did you have a similar attack of conscience when our leaders were.
Woolhhouse. Hinchcliff and Brearley and others I could name?

It has got out of hand this Marlon Ok Marlon scum 'debate'. In fact nothing has changed. we have signed someone who on a personal level (me included) dont like. It bad pr for the club and the consequence is we are attacking each other because of it. Entirely predictable. Now Swiss and you other stayaways just turn over the page and get to the next chapter. United allus let thi darn my granddad said 50 years ago. Do they? Lets see.

If Kings name is mentioned on Radio Sheffield tomorrow I will put my foot through the speakers - and send David Weir the bill!

But he had already got previous when they paid the top dollar.
Goes to show that even Dave Whelan - a guy I see as being a strong moral character in the game, that has very few, can even come cropper.

There's a lot of indignation about, over the last 18-24 hours - how shocked everyone is that football is a murky business full of low life and scumbags, mixed in with a bunch of model pros and good people. Same owd same owd in reality. Not condoning what King has done and I am perturbed by the fallout from the decision to sign him. Just a reflection on how shit the game is in reality anyway - by that I mean the state of the game globally, the corruption, the injustice and the greed displayed each and every week by anything connected to it.

Hey Kenilworth, if you haven't already mebbe you should have a look here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Against-Modern-Football/247030311967

Or some way below? Depends on your point of view.

Not wishing to employ a repeat offender or person on the sex offender register may place me in some people's eyes as below that of winter etc. I'll live with that.

It's not King we need to worry about it's the crowd's response to Preston's third goal

Like it or not he is now a blade. Lets get behind the whole team this afternoon King included and lets hope the revival starts today.
