Can not see the problem. He has done his time for his crime so lets hope he scores some goals.

Obvious headlines for the press:

"King Signed With Prince's Cash"

"Prince Gives King Royal Welcome"

"Blades At Last Find Evans Replacement - In All Respects"

Good luck to any parents whose kids want 'King' on the back to their shirts. If he's scoring how do you explain why you won't let them have his name on the back of the shirt.

With this signing it leaves the door open for Ched to play for us when he has served his time

Joking aside I remember the Prince saying he bought into our history, what the club means to the community and Im sure he said something about being a family club. Wonder what he will think of this

King would be no good as a Saudi he would be missing several body parts by now

A conscience is nice and all that, but at the moment I don't think we're in a position for that. We need a striker who will score goals. I'm not overly happy about his past but at the end of the day I want us out of this potential relegation scrap.

The days of me supporting players thinking they were a shining beacon and god like left along time ago. We need to separate the footballer from the man.

I think most would be quite disappointed to hear what footballers get up to, even ones you think are saints.

I bet 25 goals this season will.

For me;

Minor shoplifting = 5 goals
Regular speeding offences = 10 goals
GBH etc= 20 goals
Mass Murder = 30 Goals.

I think the club have this one about right, TBH.

;)

I can understand that, 3rd bottom = we sign someone jailed for abh

Who can we sign if we drop to 2nd bottom

Must be open season if we hit rock bottom

Weir is a fuckwit, and all who sanctioned it ......

The man has served his time, although it doesn't seem to have cured him of being a complete twat. Were we not in the shit then I doubt that this odious man would have been signed, but we are, and he has. Time will tell if it was a wise move.

This smacks of complete desperation and goes against what the club have been saying this last year or so, and the type of players we need at the club.

Of course all will be forgiven if he starts banging the goals in ;)

People were begging for free agent signings as a sign there was investment , doesnt this prove there is ?
I dont like the guy either but he is too good for our level and wouldnt even be available if he wasnt such a twat
But ....he will smash lg1 into oblivion

Marlon ? - is that you

In my opinion, we needed more experience, character and a proven goal scorer in the squad. King will certainly give us that. The immediate issues are how short of match fitness is he and will he get the service he needs to do justice to his undoubted goal scoring ability. Time will tell.

Yeah well thanks Worksop II ! Luckily King hasn't actually terminated anyone.

Seriously though with 2 separate hit and run charges (I believe) hanging over his head from earlier in the year, isn't it fairly likely that he might get sent to prison quite soon? I'm out of my depth here, I call on my learned friend Pinchy.

Also if you have an ounce of common sense and you've been in a serious crash, wouldn't you catch the bus for a bit?

Pinchy where are you?

In between a rock and a hard place with this one, on the pitch he's got an excellent record and for this level he's a coup! Off the pitch, the guy is a turd.

Let's hope he gets the goals and goes home to pipe and slippers every night while he's here!

I am absolutely ashamed at my football club.
If you run on the pitch in sheer joy and celebration we will ban you for however long we want and fine you.
However if your name is Marlon King and you steal cars, handle stolen goods, beat women up and of course commit sexual offences against women, then you are welcome on our hallowed turf. After all we are the family club who specialise in sexual offences.
And all the people on the forums who are saying he's served his time, everyone deserves another chance etc, etc, etc. NO HE DOESN'T !!!! What a role model he is to young kids
I deeply regret not having a season ticket as I have nothing to send back to the club.
I could not applaud this man scoring for my team, I would find it much easier to accept relegation.
I am not speaking as a football fan here, but as a member of a society that is very quickly losing perspective on right or wrong.

I have two young lads who are delighted with this signing.

They don't care about his off field antics. They know lots of footballers are tossers in various ways. They will not start believing that hit an run is ok because our striker has done it. They don't see past United, and what's happening on the field.

I'm happy to let the system deal with king off it.

As I was reading that I thought there has to be a punchline coming at the end....then I realised you were being serious. The "I deeply regret not having a season ticket as I have nothing to send back to the club" is frankly embarrassing.

Nobody in their right mind would condone what King has done in the past - but it's in the past. My concern when it comes to SUFC is the present and what we do on the pitch. If King scores the winner on Saturday I'll be delighted.

I have a ST and I wouldn't dream of sending it back.
