just seen a rumour that sheff utd and portsmouth and celtic are in a 3way battel for the 30 year old's signature.

kevin blackwell sign these.

ebanks blake
mulgrew
surman

and another few decent players and i could see us in the premiship next season :)

not marlon harewood, surely he has big wages and he's not great to say the least.

Paper talk at best. We've been linked with Marlon more times than I can remember. He will be the wrong side of 30 now and on generous wages. I really dont see anything in this. We've just spent 12 months cutting our high earners from the squad, they're not going to bring another one in now.

Ebanks-Blake would be a better option but I am almost certain that the financial implications are similar. Both these players will be on a minimum of £20K a week. I would imagine the former is on more than that.

Think Bogdanovic, Mifsud and Mackie - these sorts of players are within our budget.

Harewood, Ebanks-Blake and almost any other PL striker are in another market right now. United are trying to build with unproven potential. If we could afford established names like that we would have kept Naysmith, Killa, Harper, Hulse, Beatte etc. etc.

I dont think some of our supporters are quite getting the financial picture at the moment. All is not lost (I'm not saying it is), but the days of buying the Beattie's and Kilgallon's of this world are gone........

I think you are right and, looking at the mire some clubs are in, this is probably not a bad thing, hopefully we can find some rough diamonds somewhere, like Bassett did?

we wont get him anyway for ebanks blake a season long loan would benifit us if wovles would be willing to do that with an option to buy at end if he dose well which he wud in the 2nd tier

in tonites star blackwell is saying he wants to try and steer clear of loan signings at the start.whereas last season we had 5 in the side that played at boro

Don't let the arrogant, useless, has been, overrated tw@t anywhere near the hallowed turf of Bramall Lane. He had one good season (02/03) when he had his 40 goal + partnership with David Johnson and since then.....nowt.

Marlon would certainly add to the ugly brigade at BDTBL - Ertl, Boggy, Willo, Yates and Cresswell must have hit every branch of the ugly tree on their way down......and Morgs is no oil painting!
