Paper talk at best. We've been linked with Marlon more times than I can remember. He will be the wrong side of 30 now and on generous wages. I really dont see anything in this. We've just spent 12 months cutting our high earners from the squad, they're not going to bring another one in now.
Ebanks-Blake would be a better option but I am almost certain that the financial implications are similar. Both these players will be on a minimum of £20K a week. I would imagine the former is on more than that.
Think Bogdanovic, Mifsud and Mackie - these sorts of players are within our budget.
Harewood, Ebanks-Blake and almost any other PL striker are in another market right now. United are trying to build with unproven potential. If we could afford established names like that we would have kept Naysmith, Killa, Harper, Hulse, Beatte etc. etc.
I dont think some of our supporters are quite getting the financial picture at the moment. All is not lost (I'm not saying it is), but the days of buying the Beattie's and Kilgallon's of this world are gone........
