I think Jake Wright is an ideal Championship version of Jake Wright.

He's already being written off due to his age and where he's played before but I honestly think he's a very good defender that has been overlooked throughout his career. At the moment the shirt is his and I wouldn't be looking to replace him, only to give him competition/cover.

Jake Wright strikes me as a Mike Brealey type of player, who although limited, brings the best out in others. Wilder seems to think he has limitations too. For that reason I think someone else be brought in

Yeah, you may well be right. Maybe there's a season still left in him. At 35, he's pushing it though!

In a way though, can't really take his lack of game time this season as an indicator of him not being up to it, because the manager there clearly brought his own men in who displaced him & then performed well.

Could he be a Craig Short? After all, he hadn't played very often for Blackburn the season before he joined us, it seems (albeit they were in the Premier League at the time).
