He should have cost us the game today and he's very lucky a goal from a corner rescued him, and so are the team because it was quite a poor performance all round. He had all the time in the world to come and get that ball for the second goal but as usual, he was probably too afraid of getting hurt.

He is nowhere near good enough to be Sheffield United's number 1, whether we're in League One or not. He'll only ever cost us points and needs replacing as soon as possible.

You enjoyed the win then?

But he's the best we've got!

And what an absolute joke that is. Unbelievable that he was given a new contract. Sadly, as soon as he was he was always going to start as number 1 and ensure we were handicapped from the very start this season.

I wonder if Ned will come out of retirement and play for the rest of the season...

Picture this: Mark Howard as the league winners' number 1.

LOL.

Thought not.

ahha..............today's scapegoat then?

Was wondering who it would be.

Sometimes the result is more important.

If the opening post was "Our Midfield was dominated for large periods of the game" you could have had a like.

To pick out Howard is a joke when once again, our midfield was totally and utterly out played, out moved and out passed that was the REAL problem.

But well done to United - we stuck in there and got the job done.

We move on...........

Yep, and that. Rochdale had it far too easy in central midfield and the final third. It was a mistake going with Coutts and Baxter against them and Reed should have started.

If that game had finished 2-2, as it probably should have, then it's absolutely right that Howard would be singled out because that goal was not only his fault, but it was absolutely pathetic.

Not today's scapegoat - he's generally poor

Im sure I watched petre Cech in Arsenals opening game gift west ham 2 goals
hes pathetic isnt he

I'm sure I've never seen Mark Howard do anything as well or consistently as Petr Cech.

I'm also sure I've never seen Cech bottle diving at a striker's feet like Howard did at Bradford - despite suffering a fractured skull doing just that previously.

Were you one of the people sat near us, who booed him for trying to throw out quickly over a midfielders head to try and set Freeman off, but then also booed when he held onto the ball instead of trying the same again in the second half?

I'm going to need to see a replay/gif of the goal, from my angle in the Kop it was basically "good save wait it's still in play wait they scored what"

we win as a team. we lose as a team. ok the keepers not the best we have ever had but the managers not daft and knows what's needed

No I wasn't. I'm just somebody who remembers what a proper goalkeeper looks like and sees Howard for what he is.

I'm actually happy to see him roll it out into central areas and won't slate him if it doesn't come off.

he hasnt done it since
but all keepers make errors, often resulting in a goal
Howards ok he has his poor decisions but all keepers make them
just heard some idiot o RS saying hed wish McEvely would break his leg ,
ok say hes not your cup of tea but thats utterly moronic
