Mark Beevers?

With Millwall failing to go up and Beevers being out of contract, we should have a good chance of signing him, especially if he wants to move back up here.

He's had a good season for them and is a good centre half at this level. Tall, good in the air, a good age and also left footed.

Should definitely be one of the first centre halves we try to sign.

Poised to reject Millwalls contract offer.
I have it on good authority he is looking to move closer to home.

Would fit the remit of someone knowing the division, and one of the leagues better centre halfs

Left footed too so you'd think that improves our chances of being interested.

Weren't Barnsley rumoured to be in for him though?
 
I have it on good authority that he wants to move back north too, straight from the Millwall managers mouth:

“Mark has done exceptionally well for us, especially in the second-half of last season.

“He is a northern based lad who has given good service to us and he has made no secret over the course of the last 12 months that his future probably lies up north.


“We’re busy looking at trying to replace Mark in the centre-half positions and we will work tirelessly to not only make sure we get the right player, but as ever to get the right character to continue that team spirit.”​

Think he would be a great signing.
 
Will almost certainly sign for Barnsley IMO as he's from there and a boyhood Barnsley fan. With them being promoted, it seems like an obvious signing.

Aye I think that's the obvious destination. Just on a side note and this isn't a criticism of Tel, I see now that Kennedy has left us he's bigging up his Barnsley roots when they got promoted! I think he went actually to see them, Hope Tel gets a club somewhere to be fair.

Sam Hutchinson ex Fulham is one that might be realistic as a centre half. He's just been released and he's from Newcastle so might fancy a move nearer home. I'll not mention the other Geordie released from Fulham!

It's not even like they'll be paying big wages either.

We've never had (even by twitter as far as I'm aware) any links to signing Beevers. However, it would, on paper at least, appeared to be a decent signing and its annoying that he's signed for a rival. That said I'm sure he would have chosen us over Bolton, so my guess is we didn't got for him. At least he didn't join Charlton! Are Bolton allowed to sign free transfers under the transfer embargo? That was my understanding?
 
What's up with people on here? This is the transfer rumour section, so the idea is , if you see or hear of an impending transfer you can post it on here. I put the added comment "Oh well" because i wouldn't have minded him coming here as he was supposedly one of the names in the frame for a centre half position.
Sharn't bother in future.
 
If he's going to move back north and sign for a league 1 club then we should surely be in for him. Good age, height and experience.

Is our new found bladey bladeness putting us off signing an ex pig?

Wasn't Parkinson persuaded to go there because the embargo had been lifted in principle? Seemed to be a case of dotting the Is and crossing the Ts. Remember him saying something along the lines of them going to be a big hitter in this division financially.

Anyway, still hope we too are in for Beevers (regardless of his porcine past). Certainly doesn't sound like a sealed deal yet.
