There are no downsides to what he's doing. He contributes more financially to the Public fund than 99.9% of the country already just through PAYE. But the example he's setting will hopefully encourage more people with a platform like his to take up the mantle and start to help as many people as they can

Growing up, with a single mother and three older sisters, we had free school dinners. We even used to go to that place near the city hall and get cheap subsidised clothing as my mum couldn't afford to cloth me and my sisters from normal shops. That meant we could all not have to worry about going hungry at school and concentrate on our lessons and getting good results.

I now earn a good salary even by London standards and have paid back way more in taxes than I ever took out. So fuck you and your stigmatising of the poor.

Whilst underneath some of your stereotypical and narrow minded views there are people like that, but they are generally a tiny fraction of the whole picture. Do you consider people who have lost jobs, fallen on hard times and need help? They may have been fine before but need help now! Suffer from mental health issues or physical issues that prevent them from work? Or the fact that there's a lot of unemployment out there?? As for a woman having "3 kids all with different fathers", what's that got to do with anything??? Do all kids expect everything - any stats to back that up?? Crime stats, do they reflect the 'demographic profile' you suggest?

So, in a nutshell, six-year old kids should starve for the misfortune of being born to parents who in your opinion are undeserving of social support? The parents today are a product of the policies of yesterday. If the policies don't change, neither will the cycle.

How does their hungry schoolkid influence that? Should they go out and get a job to pay for their own food?
I was lucky, even though we had very little money growing up, parents spent it on what was needed. Loads of kids aren't so lucky and have parents who can't or don't spend it like that.
Leaving kids to go hungry to try teach parents who don't care, or parents who are genuinely struggling, doesn't work and isn't a sane idea.

Even if the parents get vouchers to feed their kids, you get ones who spend it on whatever they like because vouchers aren't valid for just food or clothes for kids. You can get parents rocking up to the checkout at Tesco with a 24 crate of booze and a bit of food and use the vouchers to pay for them all. Thankfully some staff will refuse (and rightly so) but if they kick up a fuss and speak to a manager they'll most likely side with the customer and allow it.

You are making a lot of assumptions there, not everyone on benefits is on the hustle and spending on booze etc.

I do agree that people shouldn't rely on the government to cover the cost of everything in their life though especially feeding their own offspring.

That said we are in the middle of a pandemic and we are doing our best to completely fuck our economy, so the government is going to have to cover the cost of these things now.

There were free school meals. There wasn’t the pressure to provide them in the holidays because there were nothing like the number of hungry kids we have now. Similarly there were no food banks - they are the legacy of 10 years of the Tories.

It sounds an awful place where you live where is it?every one smoking driving 4+4s and taking drugs all pissed up while not feeding their kids .what terrible people they are.So glad I don't live anywhere near it.Now what about these others who are finding it hard feeding their kids who up till March this year had a good job a nice house did not smoke or do drugs but through no fault of their own find themselves without money coming in because they have lost their jobs or laid of because of this virus and look like loosing the roof over their heads.May be you should have a word with Doris and suggest he sets up a special service where you can send your kids back if you fall on unexpected hard times.Now you did not think of that did you.
