I wish some of out fans would get a reality check. We've played one game. Judge us after ten. Remember when we played our first game last season? A lot of people thought we would walk the league. Have a bit of patience and faith :)

anyone who saw man city lose at cardiff 3-2 and then at villa in the first weeks of last season probably wrote them off from winning the prem
early days , new players sometimes take a few games to settle
at times yesterday the football we played was stunning
lets not all run for the life jackets , we are still afloat

Lets just get rid of the board, manager, coaching staff and all the players, they have lost the first game of the season and therefore deserve to go, surely that's the end of any possibility of promotion and relegation is assured and its all Marc mcnulty's fault or Neil Collins or Michael Doyle or it might be nick montgomery's fault.
Ffs give it a rest, 1 game in and already people are pointing fingers at bad signings and saying we have no chance of promotion, what fecking world are these people living on?
Only 45 games left to win promotion fellas, is there enough points left to win I wonder?
It's almost funny, almost!!!

It's a football forum mate not an a level English essay

It is indeed. A forum using the written word as its medium. Basic punctuation is precisely that; basic. Full stops and commas are the bare minimum of written communication.

If you really want others to read your contributions, why not make it easy for them to do so? The proper use of the language is not some relic of the past, as many participants in modern instant media would believe, but the bedrock of effective writing.

Your remark is all too typical of those who would reduce our language to the level of a teletext message. We are all much the poorer for that wretched form of non-English and its proliferation into semi-formal writing.

Ironically, the single example of punctuation you do offer is the correct use of an apostrophe, which suggests you can do it when you try.

I was in a rush when writing and was typing on the phone. I'd like to reassure you I do know how and where to use punctuation, and I'm not a pig maybe I was harsh and overreacted just my opinion on the games I've seen so far of him kind of a prediction sorry if I offend you 'pinchy' when I read the op back it is terrible to read.

As the eloquent Oscar Wilde was heard to mutter - "Methinks pork talks"

A level? I think we'd be happy if you could use the basics of what makes reading bearable. It might pass muster amongst the Clampetts, but it'll help your point if you pay just a little attention to the nuts and bolts of punctuation.

I know some may say this is harsh after just 1 game but really can't see it working out here for this lad I've seen every preseason game he's played in and he lacks pace strength and ability on the ball he might be a decent finisher if it's put on a plate for him but that doesn't happen often the way we play think he will be another lyle Taylor although hope I'm wrong!

Myself and a few others will await your next comment about Mark McNulty with great interest

It's the Bladesfans' Way.

A vociferous but happily small minority are suffering, as usual, from premature exasperation. It's all too mind-numbingly predictable. No other teams lose games, you know, just us.

If I had the energy, I'd unearth that post (on Basham( you made the other day....:)

He took his goal well, but sad to say was really quite poor otherwise. Not writing him off though just to clarify.
Agreed, an real no show again. But, it's often a confidence thing. Perhaps that will get him rolling.

Not hit the ground running agree. Didn't have the best of games but he got that all important goal which will hopefully break the ice for him a bit. He's only a young lad and no doubt the pressure of getting that first goal and stuff would have been quite heavy on his shoulders. Just shading 8000 at the lane tonight was a low attendance for us but for him coming from Livingstone with an average attendance of about 1100 tonight must have been a bit big.

Hopefully this goal will bring him on and then a couple more and he will be flying. You can't expect players to just walk into a new team and hit the ground firing on all cylinders at 21 years old. Higdon is another story, he's been there and done it. He's played his football and it is all water off a ducks back for him.

If he's got a knack of scoring, he can be as quite as a mouse all game!

Bit unfair to write him off so soon. There's quite a few strikers over the years made a very good living from doing bugger all for 89 minutes yet scoring regularly. At least give him a few more games.

Interestingly Cloughie said he had a poor game last night too.

He was poor again and Diego should have played. I wanted him replacing at half time. His winner had a bit of luck because the defender challenging him should have done better
I think you have a point there Silent and I too was hoping Diego would be introduced to provide some unpredictable quality to the predictable rubbish we were being fed.
However, on reflection and how things panned out it was probably important for McNulty's development he got 90(well almost). No doubt you could argue that for Diego too.
As for MM's goal, yes a slight element of fortune involved, but you can't deny his predatory instinct when opportunity knocked.

No dis respect but we know what Porter can do,which is basically naff all,so if Diego was going to play instead of anybody,it should have been Porter and not Mcnulty.

We need Mcnulty to get game time to see what he can do,because were not too sure at the moment.

Mcnulty scored,Porter didn't and Mcnulty played a bit better when Porter went off, enough said really.
