It is indeed. A forum using the written word as its medium. Basic punctuation is precisely that; basic. Full stops and commas are the bare minimum of written communication.
If you really want others to read your contributions, why not make it easy for them to do so? The proper use of the language is not some relic of the past, as many participants in modern instant media would believe, but the bedrock of effective writing.
Your remark is all too typical of those who would reduce our language to the level of a teletext message. We are all much the poorer for that wretched form of non-English and its proliferation into semi-formal writing.
Ironically, the single example of punctuation you do offer is the correct use of an apostrophe, which suggests you can do it when you try.
