Have you forgotten what happened on October 7th
Hamas knew exactly what would happen when they decided on their actions that day, they still have hostages
If you poke the bear dont be surprised if it reacts
No, I haven't.
But most people on here have forgotten or more likely don't care about the years and years of oppression inflicted on Palestinians which has culminated in where we are now.

Wow. That'd be amazing. Was literally wondering the other day why Leeds haven't signed him yet.

Said he was unrealistic for Leeds before he joined last season.

Way too good for Championship.

Not sure his nationality is particularly relevant, unless he's publicly come out as loving war or something.

Would be a real statement of intent. I'm pleased about the confirmed & potential moves for Chong, Mee and Matos too, but this guy looked great for Leeds in the highlights I saw last season.

Sorry diagree. This thread is about signing a right winger from Spurs.

The political debate you say around the player has deviated even off that topic.

The football world has people of all sexualities, political view points and the whole spectrum of everything else. Lets stick to football.
Nah, it's a completely relevant part of the baggage that comes with signing this player. A pretty big elephant in the room and one that is likely to bring some negative attention our way.

We absolutely should be talking about it.

Similarly if we tried to sign Mason Greenwood, we would absolutely be talking about the baggage that comes with him too.

Gaza has had more aid per head of population than any other country in the last 20 years, they chose to spend it on tunnels and weapons. Please trot off back to S6 Pedro!!

Mason Greenwood broke the law. Which was a factual thing though so bit of a difference.

Anyway let's agree to disagree because I don't want to clog football chat with this,

You can be isreali and against genocide, although unfortunately polling would suggest that is the minority.

If you agree with the signing or not I dont care all I said was it's a divisive signing which is obvious just from reading this thread. Same arguments were trotted out when we sign King, hence my original post.
He's definitely not in that minority!

The oppression and theft of land (acknowledged as illegal) has been going on for generations.
The notion you see Gaza as a charity case shows you know or care very little about the reality and history of Palestine.
Plenty of people in Sheffield, including at S2 and S6, are appalled by what Israel has done.

Agree to disagree is a good place to start.

Much better than trying to shut down the conversation.

Greenwood was a good example because the baggage comes with the player, and there may be fans who would highlight that he had all his charges dropped. Personally I wouldn't want the prick to be anywhere near my club but I wouldn't tell people that disagreed with me that they shouldn't talk about it. It's what forums are for.

It was a reply to a question! Asking about whether or not he'd shared his opinion on the conflict.
What he said was "unless he's publicly come out as loving war or something"

I'd suggest what Solomon posted was the opposite of loving war. You reposting with that picture suggested that Solomon had created controversy by supporting war, which imo is a misrepresentation of what he posted and solely misrepresented for the purpose of purveying a negative view of him. It's fuckin backwards that we turn situations like this against our club, and use the plight of those poor Palestinians to justify it.

You have your opinion. I have mine. Not sure how it's a misrepresentation. It's basically saying, "Why are you looking now when you weren't looking on October 7th?". Trying to justify the disproportionate, ongoing response to the Hamas terrorist attack. We've been looking since 1948.

Not to get too deep into this.....but all this didn't start on October 7th. It's been going on for 77 years.
I dont either
Im well aware of that but the last 2 years of war and all the bombing and killing has been mostly down to Hamas and their decision to carry out the act of October 7th they surely knew what would happen. I certainly did

This is my last post on the matter as its supposed to be a thread about signing a player its been de-railed enough

Good thing we won't be in for Greenwood then. He's absolutely light years ahead of Solomon in ability. His past is the only reason he's still at Marseille
TBF I couldn't think of another player with pretty big baggage that we were closer to.

Pretty sure Lee Hughes and Luke McCormick have both retired.

Let's not compare Solomon with Greenwood now. Greenwood is an actual scumbag. Solomon's only "crime" here is that he seems to have a patriotic mindset.

I have a solution. Why don't we sign him, because he's a great player, and all of the cuckold, lefty, Guardianista snowflakes who are offended by it, can either fuck off and support another club, or just stay away in protest. Maybe make some little placards and hold a candlelight vigil or something. Deal?

Is he pissed off about the Genocide Israel are currently committing?
Thats not what that post is though is it?
That's like someone putting a 9/11 post on and you complaining about America's involvement in Oil wars.
I believe its called 'whataboutism'
