David Green was the FC Chairman when Weir was appointed, he owns Greenpiling a foundations company.

Martin Green owns the pub quiz company and got on board with the club by sponsoring the academy.

Carl Sheiber is a Career McCabe man, working under the Scarborough/Sufc umbrella since 2007.

Simon Westbury is a sales director who most recently worked for the VsoftCO virtual gaming business that adorned our home shirts the other year.

Not one of them has football experience and ALL of them are part of the problem.

This club is dead.

True but they can probably deal with negotiations better than Mal did.

If they have the funds they might. Blaming MB for everything is just because of the Clough link. He may have been poor at the job and not been able to sell the club that but if the money is on the table, players and selling clubs tend to take it. We do.

I beg to differ...

Let's remind ourselves of what was said when Brannigan was appointed:

Sheffield United Director Scott McCabe said: "We are delighted to see Mal come on board. He brings great football contacts and the rare combination in the game of operational, commercial and financial experience."

SUFC Co-owner Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad said: "Getting Mal in at the Lane is a coup. Mal and Nigel know each other well and worked together successfully at Derby. With Mal heading up our business and Nigel heading up our first team, this club is in great hands."

:(

This doesn't have Big Jim involved - hope this doesn't indicate a step back by the Prince - if we get left with just McCabe we are royally fucked (literally).

David Green the man who played a big part in sacking Wilson and hiring Weir.

"David Green, United's Football Club Chairman, added: "It is sincerely hoped that the appointment of David will re-invigorate the club, including the supporters, and he can be assured that he has the full backing of the Board.

"We have had the opportunity to rejuvenate Bramall Lane and believe David was the best of the candidates to take us forward in a positive manner."

The worrying thing is if he's been failing in running the club, and been here for two years, how come this has only just come to light?

A twelve year old girl with a laptop and no football knowledge could deal with negotiations better than our mal did !!

At least she would stamp her feet and say " I wont sell, I wont sell, I wont sell, you nasty bully" !

UTB &FTP

And not a football man amongst the fucking lot of them *shakes head*

I'm not sure why we should rule out appointing people to key positions unless they at a minimum have made three sub appearances for Middlesbrough or whatever being a "football man" comprises. Saying nothing about the people we've brought in here, but the thought of someone who's primary qualification is the ability to kick a pig's bladder roughly in the direction of a wooden structure being in charge of sorting out multi-million pound deals frightens me. Similarly in terms of player recruitment, I'd rather have a stats grad straight out of uni who can query the hell out of Opta, ProZone, even fucking Football Manager, over whoever the hell thought Martyn Woolford would be a sound investment

Gave you a like for this. Trouble was it was probably Adkins.

This is fucking tragic. We've been crying out for some football knowledge in the boardroom and they appoint a local businessman to oversee 'Football Operations' and player recruitment. Typically Sheffield United. What an absolute joke. Nothing ever changes.

Jobs for the boys, football knowledge is irrelevant. We've been in this sorry state for so long yet they still don't realise the importance of football knowledge in the boardroom. It's just staggering.

Only the square root of fuck all.

But that's enough to get in nice and cosy at a small club like Sheffield United. You just need to be acquainted with the owner.

Martin Green is the MD and major shareholder of Redtooth
Redtooth are a highly successful commercial, administrative, non-footballing organisation
I'm of the opinion that he is eminently qualified to fulfill the position he has been offered

Wouldn't really disagree with that. It's David Green being given football responsibility that's the issue.

Which is what exactly? How has the position evolved? What are the targets? How are they to be achieved etc etc.

It's not like we haven't had 375 "executive" appointees in the last decade is it?

Usual set up. Fans start getting angry, Kev performs a ritual sacrifice. The Disciples nod sagely and call for patience from the X-Factor want it now generation. Clean forgetting the previous dozen times they've said the same thing.

Not a pop at you Woodward btw but here we fucking go again....

According to James Shield

Martin Green will oversee #sufc's "commercial, administrative & non-footballing affairs."

The targets etc are, I presume, not for public consumption

So what the fuck do these know about football?
Brannigan gone was he pushed or leave for other interests?.I popped into the club shop last monday (before forest game)and Mr Brannigan
Picked up one of the clubs jackets £50 for what looked like his own use as he checked the size. He didn't pay but went to till and it was put through (would he pay later?).Seems a strange thing to do if he was about to leave the club.Could that mean he was dismissed?.
The talk of him sanctioning transfers must be wrong as clough it seems was the person who chose the players (with the help of his team of coaches who were sacked with him),brannigan in an interview did say the manager spends his budget as he sees fit (clough). If that's the case he just took negotiations onboard with agents and players I doubt he had any input with cloughs choices, that's how clough wanted it.
It's only right that the manager chooses who he brings in, Adkins I would assume does it that way as well, the difference being he is willing to go with his plans to the board or whatever is in place . Clough it seems wanted total control of his budget (answerable to no one)
Be interesting at Burton as there budget will be one of the smallest in the league and he and his team will have taken a big drop in wages, maybe the pay off from us and Derby is still flowing and the fruits of there failures supplement them for the time being.
The changers today will not in my opinion effect things, the manager chooses who he wants the board sanction or refuse the request of
The manager ,the negotiater deals with the finance if it and deals with the players agent and the selling club (if a fee is involved) done deal
ho
