I mentioned this after the transfer window was shut, but Adkins mentioned Brannigan enough times, as though he wasn't doing enough to get the players he wanted. I sensed mass frustration and said at the time he wouldn't be here for the new window. I think the January transfer window will now be a fair window to judge Adkins now.

Logic tells me that Brannigan's days have been numbered since Phipps and co. realised Clough had been riding roughshod over the Recruitment Committee.

If a Chief Exec is not capable of carrying out his brief re player signings i.e. a full involvement from appointed members of the committe rather than Clough doing his own thing, then the Chief Exec deserves the sack.

The comments made by Phipps blaming Clough for the recruitment policy & the lasting legacy created don't stack up - Clough may well have identified, promoted & championed the causes of his targets but I'd be extremely surprised if he (Clough) signed the cheques.
