I returned to Toledo Friday. Got up early Saturday to watch a great woman’s England win.

And then watched the very limp display from the Blades.

I got a vey depressing feeling when I saw the team sheet and, and at the end of game, I couldn’t help feeling depressed at that awful display. Palace were NOTHING and we still came out second best by far.

So, if this is the way this season is going to go, get the new boys in the team with a couple of youngsters, get the experience, and be prepared to take the Championship by storm next season.

This season is already lost after 1 game.

We had two on the bench who aren't up to speed yet, arguably our best player hadn't been registered on time, and we have 2 or three attacking and creative players to come through the door this week hopefully. There is no point in judging our entire season on that display.

There's a thread just started called "A few positives", which I agree with..............have a read, you might too

I recommend immediately fucking off and supporting a team like Man City or Real Madrid, seems more your speed

Honestly fucking pathetic.

It’s how I feel.

I hope beyond hope that I can eat my own shite at the end of the season but that was the one game we should have been up for, have players ready, and go hell bent to win.

This was only CP so yes, you can judge on this performance. This is a board issue but also the manager did not pick a team or formation to win the first game, arguably a very key game at home.. so you think we will beat forest and Man Ciry, next 2 games so we will start 0-3.

We would and could feel differently if we had performed.. remember CP had 2 goals disallowed and we barely troubled their keeper.

It should have been a cup game yesterday in terms of mentality as much as i want to believe we will be better when you don't lay a glove on an ok at best Palace side 1st game of the season at home it's time to be concerned. We have far bigger tests to come. If we are 3 played 0 points I'll be very concerned re trying to get a 1st win. It's the hope that kills you. UTB

Not seen much from the other signings to suggest a significant upgrade is already here tbh.
So you haven't seen Trusty or Hamer yet, and Souza only played 15 minutes. Slimane made us look better when he came on I thought. Larouchi doesn't look great yet, but there's time. A couple of decent additions and it's much more positive.

Still more or less the same ability as the squad that finished last season. If we kept that together I would have given us a fighting chance of 17th. It's a huge ask now. So many goals missing from that squad. Hamer can get a few but that's about it

This quote from the times interview with Hecky says it all. He knows it's a huge task replacing what we have lost.

The goals and assists from Berge, ndayie, Doyle and mcatee are not being replaced by Hamer
No one suggested they would be. Merely that you said you haven’t seen a single player here who is a significant upgrade so far when Hamer clearly is.

It was shit.
It is the board's fault, yes, we've lost our best player(s).

But we have injured players to come back in, and a week ago, we thought we'd be watching this shite all season, with no further investment, cutting the chance of any other buyer being interested, it was f***ing bleak.

At least now we're making signings which give us a fighting chance. I'm not saying we should praise anyone or be particularly grateful for that, just that it's a hell of a lot better than at the start of the week.

Daft to write it off before we've even started. And a bit shite not to support us whatever happens. UTB

If you guys think Hamer is turning this side around then I am jealous and wish I could share your optimism.

Can’t we see where we are when the window closes? Our three most senior signing haven’t or have hardly kicked a ball in the league yet but hopefully they’ll be upgrades on Berge, Robinson and Norwood and hopefully at least one of the younger lads will kick on. It’s up to the board to bring quality and hopefully experience to some of the other positions now

Larouci was bloody awful last Saturday. I thought he genuinely looked far better than Max Lowe when he came on yesterday though- although that's pretty feint praise

You can not judge it on a game where the midfield that started will not start another game again. (Hopefully)

I don’t know if anyone has totaled it up those four from last year but it was around 45 goals and 30 assists.
A galactic sized hole to fill especially with McBurnie and his dodgy foot out also.

I’m worried we’re going to be ten games in before the new players even begin to gel by which time confidence will be shot.
Watching the speed, skill and intensity of Brentford and Spurs today shows we are light years behind.
Good luck Hecky and the Boys with this challenge.
Let’s grab a spozzy 1-0 win at Forest.

Really, really, hoping we can have at least a couple of alternates in midfield for Forest; we knew that all of the guys in midfield on Saturday should not have been starting there hopefully a week together and maybe Souza and Hamer come in possibly even Brooks. Slimani to get longer than 10 minutes and Trusty to start or get some time on the pitch and hopefully the games where we can compete (like Friday) we start taking points from.

Can understand the disappointment. But there a really important fact to be aware of.

Apart from. 3 or 4 players we played a reserve team. The team actually played OK (so can’t criticise too much) but that’s one of the weakest sides we’ve put out for several years,

It was obvious we’d lose, pleased it was only 1-0. Wait until September, we’ll have a totally new midfield and attack. If we bring in our 1st choice targets then we’ll be better than last season with a realistic chance of staying up.

My opinion is this is one of the worst bed wetting posts I've read, and that's saying something.

Yes, hugely depleted squad. But limp? No. Every man on that pitch gave everything today. That's what we need to hold the fort while these very late incomings happen.
Luckily we have more positive mentalities in the management team and on the pitch than you.
