Madine wages

I can believe we'd be paying £750k between now and the end of the season, all in. Signing a £4m player on a four year deal and paying him £10k per week would have the same accounting impact (£500k amortisation + £250k wages over 6 months): it's not a bad deal in the current market if that's true. Of course, you could read that as us paying £30k per week to cover Madine's wages but in reality you can't disconnect the loan fee from the wages unless you see the contract.

FWIW if Madine is on £30k per week he'll be costing Cardiff around £3.25m per year in transfer fee amortisation and wages - they'll be funding more than half of the six month cost at a guess.

Agreed. Even if we are paying £35k per week until the end of May, that's still only £700k.

We couldn't sign a L1 or L2 striker for that.

I'd guess few on here know for sure what we're paying him.

Personally speaking if someone reliable told me we were paying 10k a week or his full wage, I wouldn't bat an eyelid tbh.

What do you expect to pay for a striker from the Premier League who was sold for £6 million a year ago?

Don't you get stung for loan fees too sometimes.

Cardiff may well be happy to get rid but I'm sure they won't give him away as there would be no benefit to them. Unless there's still a few deluded types who think Uncle Neil will bend over to help us.

Good morning

Firstly , I thought Madine contributed quite significantly towards our promotion push last season, especially at Millwall and Ipswich , and in both games he suffered a broken nose and cracked ribs respectively.

That said, I think the injuries sustained did affect his confidence thereafter and this pushed him down the pecking order.

I am happy though, that you are paying his full £30k per week wages (with incidtives)if you obtain promotion.

I would say it’s a fantastic deal for us, but I sincerely hope he does well for you.

Is that you PGMetcalf ??? :fattwat:

Edit: got beaten to it :)

True. Preston have just signed Stockley for £750k. That’s without any signing on fee and a commitment to pay his wages for the next 2 and a half(?) years. So it’s probably around £2m minimum on a player that might not be good enough for the championship.

£12k pw, fact.

The info you got that from came out last year and was defunct several times on Cardiff Fans forums, all wages in that list was 2017/2018 whilst in the Championship and before any new contracts were handed out or any contractually obliged promotion increases.

So it’s not a fact, it’s complete rubbish!

Who fucking cares what he’s on? He’s going to get it anyway whether he plays for us or does fuck all at Cardiff. We’ve spent the last six months saying ‘spend some fucking money McCabe’ and now we’ve got a problem when he does?

Isn't that just a rehash of the interview that was posted several times? It's not like Warnock to exaggerate the truth to stroke his own ego is it?

Yep Pierre, but also may illustrate that we are paying his wages fully (whatever they may be)

And yes, he may be pulling everyones plonker, but I don't understand why the need for it. Just say how it is. No one's gonna have a go whether we are paying half or all of it

As I mentioned previously, it maybe to keep the Cardiff supporters on side. If many of them thought it a bad deal to start with, saying what he's said is likely to keep them happy.

It would be a classic Warnock thing to do, deflection is something he does particularly well.

Looks like he's deflecting his eyebrows to the back of his head these days.......

Glad you guys made it up to the premier league, just a shame that Swansea got there before you as the first Welsh team to ever play there..

Warnock did say it was financial good for them which I thought was odd, this is still a wind up thread though.

We aren’t paying 30k a week on his wages.

How do you know? Seems to be a lot of people that must sit in on board meetings or be close pals with Wilder.

Reality is nonody knows except the club.

I refuse to believe we will pay anyone in our squad 50+% higher weekly wage than our highest earners when according to wilder we work within a sensible wage structure and i especially believe that a target man striker we've brought in as a option and not a starter would get anywhere close to such a wage packet. o_O

Love how many times I read yesterday that there was no way that Madine was embellishing the truth when he mentioned Billy putting a word in for him. Yet today Warnock is definitely embellishing the truth.

The truth isn't always what you want it to be.
