Given some time has now elapsed I wonder what people's feelings are about Madkins' return to the Lane. Were we wrong to take the piss out of his motivational positivity? And might the Hull players celebrate in a goose formation if they score?

Fuck the tw*t

I'm sorry, but the twat can do one. He got his mate Hammond on a lucrative little earner (with one year extention) knowing his legs had gone. Add to that the Woolford signing, who was utter garbage. Had a nice little parting shot at the fans too at the end of that season. No love lost from me.

He has a fantastic record overall, no matter what any of us think of him.

Yes it was poor season but I don't hold him wholly responsible, despite him making some shocking decisions.

I am just glad he is in the past for us. Just another sorry chapter of the League 1 years.

Met him at Faro airport after our recent friendly.

Said he didn’t get enough time with us. I “explained “ if he’d done a better job he’d have got longer!!

Mentioned Hammond to him too. Said to me that’s why he’s mentoring at a prem club. I responded “exactly he’s past playing “!

Completely stumped the guy. Off he then shuffled. ;)

He had Lallana, Fonte, Lambert and numerous others in League 1. Davie Weir would have got that lot promoted!
He sent them up to the prem as well though...
I'm not arguing that he's a good manager anyway. His style is clichés and endless positivity and we just didn't swallow it (I preferred NC's bluntness and negativity).

Don’t agree with hostility towards anyone. Adkins was trying his best.

Initially I was really impressed with Adkins pre-season positivity, he’s a great talker in his interviews.
Then I realised that every single interview was virtually identical, he skimmed over or missed out the negatives
And came up with ridiculous angles at trying to find a positive.

That 0-2 defeat at home to Scunthorpe (last game of the season) was one of the lowest I’ve ever felt supporting United.
It was at that point I realised we could be in league 1 for many many more seasons.

Hence why Wilder will always be a personal hero for what he achieved with us.

Very rarely does a manager accept his shortcomings, Wilder is doing it now FFS most of you lot are referring to 'Adkins geese' is Wilder any different with his 'fights in the changing rooms'? It's a simple tactic which a lot of people on here do; take a (truthful) comment you don't like and exaggerate it to absurd proportions, amongst your pals it's a hilarious put down but to those who know what's going on it's stupid.

Think I put it more succinctly

I think he should be booed unmercifully on the 11th minute, for the whole minute, the fucking shitcunt!

Oh dear.

Wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time. Don’t remember the assembled MENSA brigade thinking he was a bad appointment at the time. Anything was better than Clough according to some. Got that wrong as well.

Sorry to say but Adkins was a complete Twat for us!!. His post match interviews used to make me cringe as he always used to sugar coat how shit we’d actually been!!.
Credit to wilder for telling it like it is most of the time. UTB

He's the boring bloke in the pub you get stuck talking to in the local on the Saturday night when you decided not to go up town with your mates. Eventually think fuck it, get a taxi and fuck off up town after all.

Too many backed him for too long. I'll be forever grateful for him stepping in whilst we waited for Wilder. The rest is history
