Lyle Taylor

I said to my mate in the summer that he'd end up back here in the next year or so, but I hadn't realised how old he was. A couple of years younger then maybe but can't see it at 29. I liked him when he was here before and wanted him to get more of a chance, to be honest.

Think he's found his feet at Charlton, 25 goals last season, 5 in 7 this season. Championship is highest he's played.

Good lord no.

As good as he has been in recent times, the question is, will be as capable in the PL?

I have my Blades spectacles on and for some reason I don't see it

Allegedly Forest, Burnley and Norwich are also after him. I'd guess this will be his agent using us and Burnley to ramp up his transfer fee in January by name dropping alleged interest.

it’s funny how football works isnt it... imagine if somehow we stuck with lyle throughout the years and different managers, he could be hitting em in for us in the PL right now.

Makes you wonder what OMB et al could end up like if we just stick with them for a good few years...

He was more interested in his Male modeling career when he played for us.
That must have gone pear shaped now as he seems focused on his football.
Cant see a premiership team going in for him.

He now sees himself as a political commentator.

The fact he is refusing to play in Charltons remaining games, despite their position, speaks volumes about the lads character.

Anyone think Wilder would sign a player with an 'all about me' attitude?

Wilder wouldnt touch him with a barge pole, yes his next deal is important too him but lack loyalty to finish the season will not do him any favours unless he,s been tapped up already which is probably where it's at.

Wouldn't get in the matchday squad at Burnley or Bournemouth unless they are expecting to unload at least 2 strikers each.

1st of all, I always have view never sign a player that does this because he will be guaranteed to do this to new team when he wants to leave there. this not a 1 off. then not trying to help your fellow teammates & your supporters to avoid the drop is extremely low. if he had any respect for his mates he would do this for them

& besides all that why would anyone sign him him in premier league but ive also heard rangers. this person who has been around the lower leagues a bit like leon Clarke & his goals to games record is the same 1 goal per 2 games at charlton. he was at AFC Wimbledon before that with 41 in 131. I just dont see him good enough to go anywhere

Well Jim white seems to know what his wage Is going to be

If he has a job lined up he may as well just go and train with them now, if I was anything to do with Charlton from fan to employee to owner I would not want this man paying from his last game to the end of his contract.
And I agree with sheff_blade90 disrespectful to his team mates.

Might be a signing for someone like Norwich.

Often cutting their cloth. Say Pukki gets a move to stay in the PL, they bank the cash and get Taylor for nothing.

Would be a Norwich type move.

Could also see Bournemouth if they went down. Callum Wilson would be off.

Didn't someone on here tell the story of when he was at Utd of Clough taking him to one side and saying: "look Lyle do you want extra striker training after normal training" (Not a bad offer considering Clough was a far better player than manager, played for England, might have helped progress his game etc)
Taylor's reply: Not today Gaffer I'm having my leg sleeve tatoo coloured in

Galatasary supposedly interested, Taylor's agent is gonna have one hell of a phone bill to add to his fee when Taylor signs for a Championship club (possibly Wednesday) next season.
