Lundstram was decent today. However, asking him to perform the Fleck role isn't ever going to work and that contributed to our defeat today: Fleck will drive forward on the ball and beat the first man whereas that's just not Lundstam's game. Fingers crossed Fleck is back for Birmingham.
excuses.. he can’t play the coutts role .. couttsy is too good.. he can’t play the fleck role .. fleck is too good .. he can’t play the duffy role .. blah blah
what fucking role does he play then ? :D

Maybe Sharp doesn't score because Lundstram is playing.

Depends if we're playing top 6 sides.

Perfect Sheff United storm - play off final at Wembley in May with Lundstram in the side and Sharp doesn't score

I like Lundstram but the fact we don’t win many when he plays pretty much tells it’s own story, unfortunately.

If lundstram is starting, dare I question the logic in selling both Leonard and the perennially under-rated Evans?

Runs for cover...

Clarke only came on towards the end so it’s Lundstram’s fault today I see.

Dont post much,Today was the day we should have played Leonard, ideal role for him.But alas we kept John Gannon Mk2 an enigma who will become Monty2 in many peoples eyes.If that all makes sense.?

If Lundstram is bad luck, whilever he's playing all our other players should carry a lucky rabbit's foot to combat it, and Hendo needs to go out 5 minutes early for both halves with a stepladder, some tacks and a hammer and get his lucky horse shoe up on the bar.

I don't it's fair to judge him on past seasons so I looked at his starting stats this season...

Played 4
Won 0
Drawn 1 (cup)
Lost 3

Win rate - 0%

He might be doing nowt wrong and not that shit on the face of it but come on, he needs fucking off.

Well if he starts on Wednesday night, the stats say we wont win the game, and i think he will start after hearing what Wilder said about the other John's chances.

Me i would rather keep John Jonah on the bench and bring Basham into midfield at least he has some drive and can head a ball and do a tackle, bring Stearman into defence.i would be alot happier with that, and if Wilder had done that today we might have won the game.

I will bet a shiny pound coin no fucker is posting on here in a years time that Lundstram is anything but gash.

I'd probably agree mate.

He's never impressed me.

There's a long list of players I thought were rubbish who turned out to be brilliant though.

Agree with you there. Sad to say I've seen enough of Lundstrum to form an opinion. My opinion is he isn't close to good enough to play for our football club with the aspirations our manager has. I hope and expect he will be down the road ASAP . My heart sank when I saw the team sheet today as it does every time he starts. I wish it didn't. He's never hit me or called me a bad name. But he really isn't close to good enough and every single appearance only reinforces that.

For all his limitations Monty was actually popular with a lot of people, Lundstram so far is somewhere nearer Rankine or Hammond for popularity and success.

He's an OK squad player, but something just doesn't work when he starts, even when his own performance isn't too bad.

If we want to finish in the top six, we won't do it with Lundstam playing centre midfield. He needs to be used as we did v Villa.

Deadbat has got slated in his assessment off some posters after todays game v Bristol - not sure why really, it's EXACTLY the same pattern every time he starts games. Plays easy balls - slows the play down, gives the ball away.

He isn't a bad footballer - just not one that can influence a game as our other centre midfield players can. Bought when ALL we expected was to try and stay in the league last season.

We've moved on much faster as a team and a club - some of our players that we came out of the L1 with just aren't up to playing at the top of this division - it really is that simple as we are now setting our standards much higher.

I think Lundstram is alright, but agree he isn't good enough to be a regular if we are going for promotion. He is a squad player now, playing because Fleck was injured. We haven't got the resources to buy squad players as good as Fleck, Norwood and Duffy, so their replacements will be less effective. Yes he has lost all the league games he has played this season, in the interests of balance I will point out that they were the best three sides we have played so far and will be close to the playoffs at least.

I think most that we came out of League 1 with have proved to be up to playing at the top of this division. Quite a few of the players signed since have proven to be anything but.

I don't think anyone could disagree with that. The revolving door has slapped a few on the arse in quick succession. Fuck knows how Lundstram hasn't been one of them.

Lundstram isn't a scapegoat,he just isn't progressive enough.I am sorry to say that when i hear that he is starting a game,my heart sinks,as his presence in our midfield means that we play with the 'handbrake on'.He is ok,that's the bloody problem, just ok !!

The record of zero wins isn't all his fault, just 90% of it. He's the sort of guy that could fall into a barrell of tits and come up sucking his thumb.

Is it down to Lundstram or is it down to Fleck/Coutts being so instrumental that no one can step up?

It's down to us needing an extra Fleck or an extra Coutts/ Norwood

Unfortunately he isn't the same as either.

We're struggling to fit him into a style that we want to play and that makes you wonder why we signed him

But I will not slag him off because he really tries and he really wants to succeed, and for that he deserves some credit considering some of the wage thieves we've had to put up with

Maybe before we write somebody off with simple stats we should get Beans or somebody to provide real stats. For instance, is our xg lower when Lunny plays. I would have thought our xg was quite OK today, but I don’t know. If we created statistically as much chance of scoring, then it’s just down to other people’s poor finishing.

Personally, as I posted before KO, I would have played Stears and put Bash in mid - I thought it was perfect for Bash’s drive today. However, I know that, like everybody else, I only see what I look for - and often real data proves me wrong.

I was an Enda Hater - and Beans showed that I should be an Enda Defenda.

This time, I will await the magic numbers before waving the black flag.
