Whilst everyone understandably reviled him for his mercenary actions, it was disappointing to witness him put his own personal wealth and reputation ahead of the club that gave him the opportunity to showcase his talent in the Premier League in the first place. Just for him to then jump ship at the first sign the wheels were coming loose, rather than stay, roll up his sleeves and fight to the bitter end.

I suppose the same could be said about John Lundsram too?

He's got some decent attributes. But in 3 or 4 seasons here he's only actually played well for about 1/3 of one. He'll start well at Burnley then slink back to being a mardy, arrogant average player.

Whilst I have absolutely no time for this footballer who has cheated SUFC and its fans by going through the motions for a full season, the real culprits here are the thick twats who continued to pick him week after week despite him stinking the place out. Totally disgusting that he continued to get picked after September onwards when it was obvious then that he didn't give a shit (and all the bollox from the management of the club telling us all that all the players did care was totally that - most fans don't need some professional at a football club to tell us our arse from our elbow).

He's been dreadful this year like the rest but at least the likes of Fleck, Norwood and Stevens performed consistently in seasons previous. He's a mid table Championship player based on his performances for us.

Neutral fans seem to think we have turned on him this season due to the contract situation but I think we all remember the horror when he was named in the starting 11 in the first game last season!

Nobody wanted him in the team and he was very lucky to get that first start. Fair play to him though as he put in 3 months of really good performances before reverting to type. Even last season loads wanted Besic in above him after Christmas.

That takes him to 30, and he’ll have another contract left of his career, at which time he’ll still earn more than he’s currently on with us. I have no issue with footballers earning what they can out if the game as anyone would do the same. But that's the thing. I expect them to earn it, not get paid a very tidy wage for a full season all whilst cheating a club and its fans by putting in next to no effort. Thank the lord he turned down our contract offer. Can you imagine how gutted we would be if we had him hanging around bleeding us for big wages for another couple of no effort seasons?

I agree but I don’t think he ever had a properly good game for us ... not in the way that, say, John Fleck has had properly good games where he’s dominated the opposition. No, imho Lunny did some good things in some games, but was at best only a small cog in a very well-oiled machine.

That was one piece of the total lack of investment in midfield, also got rid of Freeman on loan. Weakened us so much in that department that Lunny could hold us to ransom this season. After Lunnys horror show against Wolves he should have been dropped but instead he was kept in the team, spurning glorious chances to win points at villa and against Leeds. After that his performances began their steady decline further. Awful management from Wilder, after 4 years of brilliance...

Some of the takes on lundstram are pretty embarrassing and show how fickle our fans can be and football fans in general

The majority of the takes are baseless around his performances and come from wilder hanging him out to dry and negotiating his contract in public

Last year lundstram was one of our best players and was easily our best player of the season before sander Berge was signed and put as square peg in lundstrams position

Lundstram has also played equally as crap as most other players this season fleck/Norwood/Stevens/basham maybe they haven't received the same grief as they are still under contract after this season

Yes he should not be playing as he has no future after 2 weeks and shouldn't have played since relegation was confirmed (blame heckingbottom)
