Blades block defender deal

Sheffield United have blocked a bid by Preston to take their former defender Chris Lucketti back to Deepdale.
The experienced stopper has struggled for first-team opportunities since making the move to Bramall Lane at the end of last season but Blades boss Neil Warnock has already insisted he does not want to lose any of his squad before Thursday's transfer deadline.
Preston boss Paul Simpson told the club website: "They (United) have said they couldn't let him (Lucketti) go. They had Craig Short and Claude Davis injured and Chris Lucketti was part of their plans but then he was ill.
"We know we need to bring in an experienced centre half."
