He did a better save in the 1st half, going in the top corner and he did a one handed save to tip it over. Top prospect by the looks of it.
Looks a great size already too, at such a young age. Will be a presence when he fills out.

My understanding is that he comes from Stannington area and a family of Wendys. South Barnsley turned him down so their loss seems to be our gain.

Who cares? He's a Bladesman right now and that's all that matters. He's a very talented young keeper.

Just cos he was misguided as a youth, or his family are pork.... importantly, he now knows which club in Sheffield is the real deal.

Harry Maguire

If that's the opinion the club has of him he should probably just seek a deal elsewhere

No good for him to be warming the bench or collecting cones in so its a good move for him at a reasonable level for someone who has played barely any men's football.

It'll be a good marker for where he's at and at what level his future lies.

Jake Eastwood by comparison was sent out to the Northern Counties league at the same age and has taken till he's nearly 30 to start playing regular football so hopefully Faxon could have more of a future with us.

I’d imagine that a stint in a more physical league will harden him up I read a few months ago that players of today aren’t hardened enough to the physicality’s of the game and can be wrapped too much in cotton wool, needs a few training sessions with Billy Whitehurst.

21 for a keeper is different to 21 for a outfield player. I'd argue playing senior mens football as a keeper in the national leagues or leagues 1 and 2 isn't a huge difference. If anything a little more physical.

Again I remember reading when Alison signed for Liverpool they had him training with roughing him up readying him for the Premier League

It’s a huge difference, not least in the speed that Championship & PL strikers get their shots away.

Unlikely he was getting a loan to either of those leagues... national league doesn't have the 3 up because the EFL clubs don't want 3 down as the leagues are actually similar levels and they are worried about getting stuck in it/having three good sides come up.

Unless someone rates him as already being in the top 100 keepers in the league, at 21, without even having made a single senior appearance, he’s not going to get a loan move to be first choice at a league club. It’s not like an outfield player you can give a few minutes to here and there. People don’t take their keeper off for the last 10 minutes. You’ve got to go some way below the level of the club you’re at as a keeper to get a loan move where you’re actually going to make your senior debut and play some games . The dead rubber matches at the end of last season seemed like the perfect opportunity of giving him some time with the senior team in front of the Bramall Lane crowd; but I’m not a coach so maybe it would have been a bad idea.
