Probably been asked before but can't find it on here, a friend wants to use my loyalty points for Monday as I can't go, is this allowed and how does it work? Would he be getting ticket under my name?

Yes he would. You'll get the points.

Ooooh don't do that. People who use other people's customer numbers are 'scum', apparently. At least that what I saw one Blade say to another on Twitter.

They seem to have deleted said tweet now. Perhaps they knew it was a tad harsh...

Not sure I'm keen on it, if anything happens trouble wise within the ground and he gets involved (its unlikely he's not that sort of bloke, but heat of the moment stuff you never know) it would effectively be me who gets the shit fallout wouldn't it? And nearly 40 years of having a season ticket would be down the pan.

Does she look like you?

I’m always very selective about who I let use my loyalty on the rare occasion where I let someone else use them.

At the latest count up I was just shy of 45k, and my attendance has been fairly consistent since the inception of the system, but I do think there needs to be a bit of a change to how it is all calculated.

I’d like to see it done on a rolling 5 year basis, it will bring a few back down who have got a lot of historic points but not as many recently, but will help a few of the youngsters who have been a lot recently but don’t stand a chance of getting a ticket for the big games.

Well a mate is trying to get me one at 11am , so I'll keep you updated if I officially become scum at said time .

Can anyone enlighten me as to how many points you get for a season ticket? I know points are then awarded for attending crap cup matches and such.

Great idea that, I get that I'm more likely to say that because I'm years of tickets off being able to go to an away derby, but still :D

Normally I would have paid scant regard to making the loyalty points a level playing field, but my lad has had 5 years of season tickets, plenty of away games and is still around the 18k, so it has opened my eyes up a little.

My cat happens to be needing a ticket, if you'd like to lend it your loyalty points, please PM me for further details;);)

Young people are goosed sadly.

I think back to all those away days with my pals when we were 16-18. All we did was make sure we were at the front of the queue. No chance these days.

need to go rolling 5 years. lad has been to Bristol, Wigan, Rotherham (waiting list), Swansea, West Bromwich this year. over 35 different grounds in last 3 years, but no chance of a ticket at local big matches.
i look like going in pig end as been to every derby for 40 years, but due to work only 36k points. Away matches warrent more points. As there will be a load of pensioners there and few young uns. The atmosphere at West Brom was tremendous and am sure helped the team.

Yesterday, I secured a ticket for my youngest brother. He's done every away league game, every home cup and pre season game, and has had a season ticket for the last five years. He was lacking around 10,000 loyalty points for the final 1000 tickets. Thanks to the Blade who helped him out (you know who you are).

A 5 year rolling calculation is a really good idea to solve the ongoing issue of loyalty points
Newer supporters who follow the team home and away will then in a few years have a chance to get tickets for the 4 or 5 big away games a season when there is massive demand for a small number of tickets
This really should be presented to the club as a resolution to solve this problem once and for all

It's also a recipe to simply have more people on maximum points. Making the problem worse.

There’s one or two who buy tickets for every away game who you can buy from. “Booking fee” reasonable but suspect will go up for the Prem games.

It depends what you consider the problem to be – that it makes it difficult for some to sometimes get tickets or impossible for some to ever get tickets. There has to be a better solution than the current one. There was a fan on here saying his son was below the recent threshold despite having a season ticket the last 5 years. I haven’t had a season ticket for 10 years but had a higher total. Not sure that’s right. And the fact changing it is coming up every few months suggests, as I said last October when there was the debate before the home game, that this is only going to be a problem that is exacerbated the longer it remains unchanged.

Agree with both these but there has to be a way for 'newer' Blades to break into the 'elite supporter' system. Also as less tickets are available for some games eventually the number of fans on maximum points will whittle down.
Doesn't affect me BTW as I can only get to very few games and I much prefer a game where United win, preferably battering someone to the stomach churning derbies etc.

This only crops up with the big games. The midweek/long distance games should attract far more points.

Anyone going to away games will be aware that there are plenty of younger fans there, not just "pensioners".

Plenty of fans stuck by the team home and away in the L1 years . I don't see why those years should be knocked off by an arbitrary five year plan. Makes a mockery of "loyalty" doesn't it.

And yet someone that might have decided to take a 6 year break because they couldn’t be arsed with L1, having previously watched us extensively up to relegation, would almost certainly still have a very high total beating most that went in that time. Makes a mockery of “loyalty” doesn’t it?

Fucks those of us that live a fair distance away and cant justify a season ticket.
I have got tix for Leeds away but used mates points for Ken jnr and I (same last season)
They get the points - we don't - but it's the only way we can get to that sort of game.

I've seen the Blades at summat like 78 different away venues over the years. No loyalty points for that.

Last game we went to at the stay was 2012 and only cos we had a mate who was a good mate if Doylers.

Looks like I'll never get a chance to tek me can of WD40 there, ever again :(

There are people in the system since it started. Who didn't disappear in L1. Not sure when the system began, 2005? On season tickets alone, you'd have more points now if you started at the first L1 season. Without any previous years. There are plenty of under twenties with 40k + points btw. That's because they keep going, including away games.

Those in their 20s could have been on the system since it game in for the 06/07 season in fairness. With 2,500 points per season ticket, and what about 100 points on average per away game, a new fan this season could go to every game home and away for the next 8 years and still fail to reach 40k. And obviously given everyone else will be accruing points over that period by the time he or she reaches 40k the amount for a ticket in this situation will have risen higher than that.

We have developed a system to ensure those currently able to go to Hillsborough can have repeat visits for the future, while making it extremely unattainable for newer fans. We can surely do better than that. I didn’t realise when I saw Kilgallon disgracefully red carded that this was going to potentially be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for rage in the away end at Hillsborough. I’m not actually in a rush to head back there, but plenty would like the opportunity to go for the first time.

40k is attainable for under 20’s. In fact 45k. Someone going all the time from inception shouldn’t, in my opinion, have their points docked.

The system has flaws re younger fans but there are plenty of youngsters at the less desirable away games, where tickets aren’t snapped up at 40k points. I don’t have an answer, l suspect there isn’t one, but I know pandering to fans who moan about ticket availability for big games only isn’t it.

Here’s an idea though  for any missed seasons, say for ST’s knock 2500 points of their total. :)

Remember, children read this forum so any abusive replies by pm please......:shark:

My 16 year old has ticket for both pigs and Leeds with his loyalty points.

I transferred some of mine and his elder brothers points to him earlier in the season with this scenario in mind. All with the ticket office agreement.

Worth looking into if anyone has “excess” points and wants to increase younger family members chances. If we go up demand and some more smaller allocations will ensure a repeat of fans frustrations.

Didn't know you could do that, cheers. I've got over 50k so can get a ticket for pretty much any game but my 14 year old only has 30k which rules him out of the big games.
