They were grumbling when there seemed to be no signings, then when we actually do get a couple in they grumble their not good enough!
Let's remember where we are...Div3 with the best manager we could possibly employ. I'm sure he's trying his utmost to get players in, but come on guys and gals, let just wait and see what team starts the new season, we can't do anything about it anyway....in Nigel we should trust.

Got to look at this in combination with what he does at CB and centre mid.
If Harlee Dean is the next signing I will be very happy with the business done pre season. It fills the gaps I was spouting on about last pre season - areas of the pitch that cost us dear last year that was so blindingly obvious you'd need welders goggles to reduce the glare.

If we get Harlee Dean and also sign an experienced centre mid that can run and dictate games (worried that Wallace will still be a little fragile to last the rigours of a full div 3 campaign so soon after a long lay off) then I think there will be a lot of sides in this division very very nervous about The Blades promo credentials.

Now I haven't been this positive for ages. I'm not critical for the sake of it, I just know the signs and take a realistic approach, not one of blind faith. I don't like 451 unless you can deploy a world class striker up top like Drogba - but who the hell has one of those knocking around div 3?
It's not about hoof vs tippy tappy but it is all about creating chances, putting the opposition under tremendous pressure and having enough bodies in the right places to turn possession into goals. Use either approach in the same game if you have to.

What NC failed to realise soon enough (if at all) is that Div 3 is a real slog so you need the ability to mix it up. Sometimes you need to bully teams and sometimes you can outplay them, since you have a quality superiority that they just cannot counter.

It all went too easy for Clough his first half season in, like us he thought promotion last season was going to be a formality,it wasn't and he was weighed and found wanting when it didn't go to plan....

Seriously, since the signing were announced there can't have been more than 2 posters who've been negative about them.
Yes there was a debate when the moves were only rumoured but most of that was pointing out the OTT comments.
I've only seen positive comments wishing Billy well now he's signed.

Can someone please highlight this plethora of negative comments, or is this (rather ironically) just moan about forum members without any justification?
