Bit of a weird one that. We had a few half chances first 20 minutes but were either too slow to react or simply stood in the wrong spot each time Messlier dropped it. Could easily have been three nowt up at half time but we got the goal then started to relax. We don't do well when we're relaxed. We sit deeper, attack slower and it becomes inevitable that we'll fuck up at the back then have to listen to Wilders post match message of us matching them, being beat by the best team in the league...blah, blah, blah.
Thought we set off well, should have played more in their dodgy keepers face and forced the game. We had good spells, played some lovely short passing moves but when we let their wide players get going we were all over the shop. When James got the ball I was screaming at Burrows to show him inside. Basic fucking defending but he watched him drop the shoulder, go past him and it's one one from the cross. Second one is from a corner, a fucking corner??? Seriously, watch how many players switch off when the ball comes in. Criminal defending at pub level but watching our handsomely paid, hapless heroes doing it was shocking. Basic stuff boys, we have to be better.
Oh well, could have been three up, could have kept them to the worldie at the end but no, as is our tradition we're back to fighting for every point. Let's hope we don't fuck up like today again.
