Felt a bit sorry for Reed. Played a full season last year then not a single minute of league football resulting in no medal.

How many games do you need to play to get one?

Long got 1 after playing 3 (I think). With the title wrapped up a few weeks ago, maybe Wilder could've given him a couple of stoppage time cameos to get a medal.

Think it's 5, but the club can buy extras

Ahh the forgotten man. I fear his days are numbered at the lane. Has he been on loan this season?

No number of games required to get one, club get a set number and distribute as they see fit (& can buy extras)

Was it my imagination or did McNulty look a bit sheepish in getting his award?

Might have been to do with most players getting a big 'Wahey!' from the crowd, but a rather half-arsed, subdued cheer when he stepped out. This happened for a few lads (Hussey and Long were most noticeable).

I feel more sorry for me. I paid to watch the shite, including Reed, last year and I've not played a minute or got a medal this year either. I didn't even get to go on the pitch like he did!

No medals. Everyone got medals but them. The Chewie of the medal ceremony.

The numbers of appearances I saw seemed way off so I think it may include being named as a substitute.

Reed is an odd one I actually think this season could make him. It will have humbled
him and at 19 he still has a future here. Sets him up for a loan away next season to see if he has what it takes..

All 1st team squad will get one. Reed knows he doesn't deserve one although he played a part behind the scenes, just wants/needs first team football. Fact

The EFL and Sky Bet contingent did get an amusing welcome :D

Whoever thought it was a good idea to honour roll call them onto the podium made a huge faux pas.

Did they stay on the podium when the trophy was lifted?

No, in fact you can see the last remaining one of them make quite possibly the quickest sprint off the podium after handing Sharp the trophy as he sees Clarke approaching with the champers.

Couldnt possibly say

Booo!

I've seen enough talent in him to know that I'd like to see him have a year of first team football and see what he comes back like. I bet John Fleck wasn't a dissimilar player at the same age as Louis is now.

I think making his first appearance at 16 has set the bar higher for him compared to most 19 year olds who would only now be looking to break into the side. When he played well he had a fantastic range of passing and vision well beyond his age. Where he went wrong was being far too light weight (have to factor his age in again here) and having no defensive discipline. But, while he's still a small build, those are parts of the game that he has the potential to improve upon. He's also had the major hurdle that we've had the best midfield in the division by some distance. With Carruthers and O'Shea joining, and Fleck and Coutts managing to go the season largely free of suspension and any more than minor knocks, it's not surprising that any young midfielder in League One would have trouble getting game time.

Reid and Brooks played a load of games at under 23. When Reid played he was usually the most influential player in the mid field. Aggressive but I think the time at 23 would have done him good. I would expect him to go on loan for 6 months

Mate of mine has a Gulf war medal. Never wears it.

He got as far as Cyprus on stand by and never went into Iraq.

He says he'd feel a fraud wearing a medal that he was technically entitled to, but hadn't earnt, especially when the others had done some business.

For that read a few of the Blades players..

I first watched Fleck as a 15 year old who came down to play Sheffield FC. He was the next big thing at Rangers and to be honest was excellent. The next i heard he had made a bit of an arse of himself in a Glasgow night club and was moved out of Glasgow for his own safety. At 19 i think he was going through exactly what Reed is going through now.

Looks to have got over the young prodigy hype and started to settle down into a very good player.

If he has as good a season in the Championship, with his Rangers back ground i would expect a Scotland call up before Christmas.

Didn't realise Fleck had been a naughty lad as a youngster. But then I only recently realised he has his own name tattooed on his arm - not a good sign. :)
