I've seen a lot of his goals, mostly cutting in off the right (bad news again for A Brooks?).
Not saying you're wrong mon capitaine but all the highlights and goals I've seen of his are him cutting in from the left not the right. He's very right footed and played predominantly on the left side of attack for Stockport
Nearly all his goals he’s cuts in from the left
The ones I've seen are where he rappels down from the roof of the stand and takes the goalie out from behind, before tapping the ball into an empty net. But to be honest, my memories a bit shit and I could just be getting mixed up with Call of Duty.

Should be a great squad of 46
I'm hoping and expecting a fair number of the academy grads will be allowed out for their development.
Our loans went back at the end of the season, we've replaced one so far, so with Souza leaving, what I've proposed would leave us at level with last seasons squad size with a more physically demanding manager in place.

Can we not afford him as a permanent?

Whilst I'd always prefer we owned players generally I really have no issue with PL loans for the level we're at as they're very little risk.

Take Cannon for example. If we had loaned him last summer like originally planned and had the same return then most would have said it hadn't worked out and GLTTL when he returned. Instead we spent a relatively large sum on him and now he's the devil incarnate to some fans.

It’s a shame we don’t have any options in the deal
Agreed, although he'll only have 2 years left on his contract at the end of the season, so if there's a deal to be done it shouldn't be too excessive.
I think a perm deal right now would be a significant risk on the back of his injury and if Villa were wanting things like sell-ons and a obligation to buy I can see why we'd step back.

Maybe but it’s Villa so if we and he both do well this season it’ll be another silly deal with every clause under the sun.

I would very much like it if teams in the Championship (and similar levels abroad) decided on en masse to say fuck off to the 50% sell ons, buybacks a pittance above the fee and so on. I know it helped us with Archer, but that wasn't quite as bad a deal.

It shows a pack of ambition if it's not a loan to buy because of he does well and we go up Villa will ask for nearer twenty million like they did with Archer. Maybe Villa don't want an option to buy but an obligation to buy. Either way it could be another MGW situation if we don't go up.

If we loaned him with an option to buy then why would we ever not do that instead?
Because we would benefit whether we got promoted or not as he'd be our player. Let's say we get him on loan and he makes a great impact like MGW and McAtee but we don't get promoted. Villa might then sell him for £10-£15mil to another top flight club. If we sign him permanently (for a fee lower than that now), then if we don't go up and clubs are interested then we sell him for £10-£15mil then we get all the benefits.

I'm not against loans but how much money did Wolves, Man City and Man Utd make from the sales of Henderson, MGW, Doyle and soon to to be McAtee thanks to us, not to mention the loan fees paid to them.

Loan to buy deals very rarely end up that way. There's rarely an obligatory if you loan them then you must buy them. They're normally a deal of if you want to sign them after loaning them then you get first option and we'll agree a deal now, regardless of how well they play on loan, or if you get promoted and they play x number of games then that will trigger the afore mentioned deal.

I can think of very few, if any, loans where we went on to buy them that season or at the end of a season. Kabba and Webber are the only ones that immediately spring to mind.

He's just come back from an ACL injury, I suppose we're against having him on a long term contract until he can prove that he's got over it.

As for this rumoured 50% sell on that Villa supposedly want, I'm not too bothered about it as it will only really be effective if there is quite a large profit (£15m+) made on Barry.
