Aston Villa may recall 21-year-old English striker Louie Barry from his loan spell at Stockport in January and send him out on loan to a Championship club, with Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough leading the chase. (Star)

It's from The Star, so take it with a pinch of salt.

This is a must. He is right up there, even in league 2 last year - There's players who just have that special something and he is definitely one of them.

Questions over physicality but so was David Brookes I guess, I think we should be all over this one..

Given the Blaster injury i think it would be a really clever move, maybe give Hamer the option of moving back into the centre where I still feel he is a lot stronger and is his natural position.

The problem is that he plays the same position as BBD, think it will be a case of one or the other, unless he wants to buy BBD house

Not for me. After numerous loans he has found his level. The only thing in his favour is that he is playing regularly but if recalled by Villa I can see nothing happening with him until the end of January. Any loans we do need to be early in the window In other words that we have sorted them out already.

Team Talk reporting that we are interested along with Boro in taking Louie Barry on loan as Villa are set recall him from his loan spell at Stockport

I guess Villa have trusted Carrick before with Archer and got a good return, so it kind of makes sense.

Judging by you tube.....I know not a proper way to judge....he does seem to cut score 80% of his goals cutting in from the right and shooting from the edge of the box. Not sure thats something you can expect do for too long. I always think of the collection of half volleys on Rhian Brewster's showreel from Swansea.

Seen him quite a bit for Stockport and I think this is one we might live to regret if we don’t go for him.
I think everyone in the Champ would go for him, but Villa will place him where suit them best.

I'm not sure us, where we've got a relatively settled winning side, will be that place.

Fair point although he works harder than JRS. I was also thinking about next season. I have a feeling he could make that step up. Better than say Archer any day of the week.

I don't doubt he'd make a difference to us. Even if just as a great option off then bench. But sadly, Villa will be after development for him. Boro seems ideal tbh.

I also don't think it's fair to compare Archer to him. Archer was almost unplayable at this level, and Barry hasn't been properly tested yet.

21 now so if it’s a loan it’s likely his final one before breaking into the Villa team or being sold so agree they will likely look for a team where his minutes are all but guaranteed

This lad would be high on my list....will definitely end up at a Championship side and whichever it is will be seriously stronger.
