I've got to admit that with 20mins left , 10 v 11 , Blackburn running the show , with all the momentum , and bringing on their big guns clearly intent on going for the jugular, I would have happily taken the 0-0 draw .But what a difference the second sending off made! We regained the initiative , and they fell apart big style. It was great to see us taking our chances again. Rovers had mad it hard for us & looked a decent side , their fans must have travelled home wondering how the hell that happened , but we have had that feeling so many times ourselves!

Same, at 0 - 0 i was telling my dad i'd take a draw. 15 minutes later we're 3 - 0 up. I'll take that!

Before the game I was talking to a Blackburn fan who was perplexed at the seven changes, especially Graham and Dack being dropped to the bench. Perhaps The manager knew best, until, of course, he brought them on

We had just been to give the green pray man a donation and there were 2 Blackburn fans with rainbow wigs on doing a selfie with him. As they walked away they started singing we're gonna lose 3-0. Should have put a bet on!

Either way, no one can seriously say that the 1st half was anything other than shite, whether that be down to Blackburn or the ref.

More relevant to this thread though is the thought that we are contenders for promotion and all i was saying was that based on that 1st half performance, there is no chance. I also said that it was a one off and that hopefully if we strengthen in the right areas in Jan then who knows..

Last two matches first half’s have been very poor but have ended up battering teams in the second half very strange matches for me

On the contrary, I've followed the Blades through thick and thin including the recent shite in League 1.........and I don't give a fuck how we score goals.......and I've never had or played fifa, I'm way too old for computer games., Lad..

I genuinely don't feel that I was wrong saying that our first half showing yesterday was shite.......I think it was, but why should I be put down for saying it? In the context of my oriiginal reply to the OP, I merely pointed out that promotion won't happen if we play like we did 1st half yesterday. I also said quite clearly that we all know that it was a one off and we are much better than that, and if we get a couple of decent additions in Jan the who knows?

Ok, so Birmingham and Boro were poor as well, fair enough I didn't go to Boro and as for Birmingham, it certainly wasn't great but yesterday's 1st half just seemed worse to me. 2nd half we were so much better and the minute it was 10 v 10 there was only going to be one winner, we were outstanding.

We weren't at our best 1st half yesterday - I'll give you that. I'd say "shite" is extremely harsh though: it was a cagey half, neither team created all that much and there were times where we could have been sharper and better in possession.

I suspect that's probabaly down to the fact that it was an unchanged team with three days rest.

The thing is, if the day after our second exciting victory this week, your main focus is how shite we are, then there's a problem.

Why not consider how fantastic it is that our captain scored two fabulous goals? Or that when Basham was sent off, rather than dropping our heads, we rallied and responded like a proper team? What about focussing on the second week running with a much improved atmosphere?

It really isn't my main focus - I first mention it replying to the OP in this thread saying we were very poor 1st half yesterday so if we play like that we won't go up. I then go on to say that it's a one off and we are better than that, and with some signings, who knows. I've also said in another post that I still thought we'd win when Bash got sent off because the atmosphere was superb, although not in the manner we did, and how we were outstanding 2nd half.

It couldn't just be that they set up for a defensive and spoiler game and then went all out for the win second half when we went a man down, but it all backfired when their man was sent off could it ?
