Brooks will be off anyway. Riedewald is fine. Nowt special. The mentality of losing is ingrained in these players- this is why they should be binned off.

We have plenty of talented players but mentality is poor with no leaders.

People slagged of the likes of Jack Robinson and Oli McBurnie but Wilder knows that if a team wants success then winning mentality takes you far…even where ability is lacking.

Rinse and repeat…

  • start games well
  • to be fair we play some good football, we can’t be called a long ball team with the football we try and play
  • create some big chances and miss big chances
  • woeful from set pieces (what’s happened since mid season when we actually looked like we had a plan)
  • get in the lead
  • fall apart after 65 mins due to poor fitness and awful bench.
  • concede goals in quick succession.
  • we never score late goals or come back late in games and never have under wilder.
  • zero resilience, fight or bottle.

It’s been the same since mid season last year and will be the same next year with less budget. A team mirrors its training and its manager/coaching staff, even more so if that manager and staff have been in place for several years.

Something has to improve and change for us to compete next season. Hope we don’t repeat 2010-2011 as this season feels very similar to 2009-2010 in how much of a let down it’s been, the fragility and the squad quality, plus the last season of parachute payments.

Can't put two good halves together, when we're on top and the other manager tweaks their system, we can't react, our substitutions often make us worse, too many of our players seem to lack mental strength, too many too keen to throw themselves on the floor....not too much to like about this team at present even though there are individuals I like.

The mentality of the squad, and the complete lack of being able to hold on to a lead, can't solely be down to Wilder can it? Those are things his teams have excelled at throughout his time here, and both of those characteristics were exceptional as recently as last season.

We also seem to have managed to sign not only shit players, but ones that don't have that mentality/personality either. Even Tanganga, who most would say was our only decent signing in the summer, seems to lack in that area.

How much better would Brooks have to be before you'd keep him? Oh. and Riedewald?

Riedewald is great but he's Al's a huge part of the problem - apparently it's acceptable that no of our midfielders can play a full game.

We had to take him off today and our subsequent collapse was as inevitable as the tide.

Happy with the performance until the legs went (apart from our customary lack of ruthlessness). The team was set up correctly and the players played well. If we aren't at least 2-0 up after 60 minutes I expect a point at best as we have so little on the bench and the majority of our players are out on their feet at that point. It would've been nice to have the Campbell/ Seriki option from the bench. Subs could've come a bit quicker as even U21s/U18s are better than players whose legs have gone. Just get legs on asap.

At pro level it’s not just about resilience. It’s being told what to do if we go 1-0 up, it’s being told what to do if we get pegged back to 1-1….Wilder has zero beyond plan A. It’s so glaringly evident now I’m surprised fans haven’t cottoned on!!
Some of us have but apparently we're all S6 supporters

Football being more entertaining under Selles, only for that Bristol City game and parts of the Birmingham City Cup game, the rest of it was so tough to watch because of the complete lack of creativity across the pitch.

We couldn't manage shots on target in any away game til we played Oxford, our first win and Wilders second games back.

We weren't much better in the home games either, and the only player who actually performed consistently in that little spell was O'Hare.

What's bothering me about recent games, is that we don't seem to track runners anymore, starting with that Coventry game as well as the odd goal before that (like Boro's second the week before).

Had we actually done that today, that second goal is definitely prevented and we could have probably stopped that first goal as well.

That being said, I'll be glad when we get some players back, even if only one of them (Seriki) will be back this season.

Cooper should be fully fit for the summer and hopefully McCallum is back at the same time, because we've really missed him at LB, Bindon certainly played better alongside him.

In my opinion, McCallum getting injured is about the same time Tanganga started to tail off as well.

Let’s not get carried away 😂, it’s not going to be a nervous end to the season at all, we are 11 points clear with 7 to play ffs.

Agree. But isnt it just a tad embarrassing that a team with probably a wage bill in the top 6 clubs in the championship, has fans that can feel like this with 7 games of the season to go. Embarrassing that we are where we are with the wages we pay, and that we are on 50 points and maybe needing 1 more win to be completely safe. CW said its now or never 4 games ago. This spineless bunch have got 2 out of 12. What a team.

Do what we did in the summer, and let's not forget it took a while for wilder to get that side better, and there will be long lasting scars 🤷‍♂️

Last summer is no quick fix and as I said when it all blew up it's going to take years to undo.

Any of us could have written that script at 1pm

Zero resilience, don't know why we bother second half - this squad and management are utterly predictable

And again, why no away team announcement pre match? Does that count for a tactical move or just Sinclair being childish?

I'm not disappointed - it was exactly as expected.

Wilder straight off down the tunnel again. Like Wembley. Can't wait for his presser to take some responsibility.....
Got suit on hadn’t he, couldn’t wait to get upstairs arse licking Wrexham yanks.

Doesnt matter the manager, we'll keep getting the same result.

Sack wilder, sack the next manager, then the next one and the next one, do it 5 times in one season, you'll get the same result with the same players.

You have to be realistic with team we have and the start of the season that had to be endured.

We will have to sell next season due to no parachute payments, the standard of player will be less, a new manager less to work with, and probably the same league position as this season - brace yourselves.
Sell fucking who! None are prem players, championship at best, some not even that!

I agree with all of that, wasn’t trying to put a positive spin on this season at all. The amount of points we have thrown away from winning positions is embarrassing, when the team are up against it they just fold and show no fight whatsoever. Sides seemingly don’t need to do much to beat us and that’s got to be put right in the summer.

Last summer is no quick fix and as I said when it all blew up it's going to take years to undo.

The big issues at United are fitness and a lack of quality players at the club. The latter is now very difficult to solve due to the huge money spent on sizeable 3-4 year contracts this summer. We really need Arblaster to return to his old self and Cooper's surgery to return us the old Cooper. Campbell to come back sans five bellies would also help. I doubt Gus and some of the academy lads will be here.

Can't he, or is it fitness staff instructions that he's in the red zone after 70 minutes?

Or is it Wilder's choice?

Even during our successful seasons he often brought the sane players off after the same amount of minutes regularly.
You've only got to watch him to see it's a fitness or stamina problem

We are going to hemorrhage season ticket sales with this boredom ball we have gone back to.

Be down to 22-24k average next season.

Wrexham arent even a particularly good side. We have given them 6 points after leading in both games. Bravo United
Wrexham were pap. It was like attack v defence in that first half. Only positive is we gave Wrexham a life line into Play Offs so they can lose spectacularly in the play off final.

Well we always get worse when he goes off.

Peck was poor by his standards today but the midfield completely went missing the last 15 minutes or so.
