Just watched the highlights on Sky and the ease with which Bury seemed to be able to play against us was frightening. Someone, clearly not Atkins or any of the coaches we currently have, need to tell the lads that standing 5 yards off of the guy with the ball, then waiting for him to do something with it, sure as shit isn't defending.
Dare I say we currently look worse without the ball than with it, if that's possible. At this level you're not coming up against Neymar & Messi every other week, if you put them under pressure they'll make a mistake, at least this is what our players seem to do with consummate ease. I don't care how bad of a team you're playing, if you constantly stand off them, give them time to get their head up and pick a pass, you're going to make them look like world beaters.
On a different note, can someone who went to the game please explain to me how we somehow managed the grand total of 0 shots on target. I saw Adams had one cleared off the line, but seriously how did we manage to not even test a keeper who conceded 6 in his previous outing.
On a positive note, only 15 games left until this joke of a season is over.
