I reckon he's here for the long term. IF he did go at some point though, or just as a thought experiment - any suggestions of a replacement that would cause less disruption than most? Someone who likes 3-5-2 and has some of Wilders' traits? I wouldn't be against looking in the lower leagues if there was someone with similar philosophy.

No, seriously, i'm struggling to be honest. I would be very cautious about looking below the Championship. I know Wilder disproves that lower league managers struggle in the Prem, but I really think our manager is a one-off, or at least a rare case.

If you look at all the times where a manager who came from the lower leagues did well it's mostly because they built that team and came up with them (Howe, Dyche, Wilder), rather than being hired to come into a team out of the blue. I definitely don't want one off the merry-go-round (Allardyce, Hughes, Moyes etc)

I just had a quick look down the leagues and the only one I could think of who's currently working in England is Bilic. I don't know if he plays 3-5-2, don't think so, but he has premier league experience and I think as a manager shares some of the qualities of Wilder, but I really don't know. It's tough. (Thank god we don't have to seriously think about it)

I think the biggest risk for us losing CWAK is not another club trying to persuade him away but rather if the new ownership leads to a new approach to running the club that impinges on the way that he wants to work or is counter to what he thinks is the best way to run the club and in his view takes away from his ability to progress the club.

I’ve been thinking about this quite a bit recently. Surely everyone has their price? On the one hand he is managing the team he loves. He has built the team and is on such a great journey. I am sure he is well paid by most standards but compared with what some PL managers are on it will be peanuts. But is CW that motivated by the money? I don’t think so but perhaps when he feels he can take us no further or a big club offers him an unbelievable salary offer would he go? I really hope not.
It’s a mad world and I read in the Sunday Times today that Arsenal are looking at appointing Mourinho if Emery goes. Unbelievable after his latest performances at Chelsea and Manure.

He won the league at Chelsea and to finish second with that Man Utd team was probably his greatest achievement of all!!

Bournemouth and Burnley have both held on to their managers whilst establishing themselves in the Premiership. Like others have said the top 6 all want established top European managers...................
